Didn't have a chance to post this thread yesterday. Based on yesterdays play it looks as if England have taken the opportunity to give the Aussies a confidence boost ahead of the return series in 3 months time. The selectors obviously know something about Woakes & Kerrigan that we don't but non the less it was a strange selection and the first session showed how badly we missed either Finn or Tremlett as the 3rd seamer. Still onto day 2 and if we can restrict them to less than 400 we could still bat for a couple of days and get a lead to pressure on them in the 3rd innings.....a big ask, but I am a little dissapointed that we are not grinding them into the dirt because 4-0 is so much better than a 3-1 series win....
Bad as our selections last season, pooring of rain in london & can't see play before lunch or after, should have played best side & grind them down even further.
Ah well morning session washed out.......incidentally it is a glorious day here, clear blue sky, gentle breeze and a shimmering sea
Bloody hell STH this takes me back to two way Family Favourites when I was a nipper. Must be around the mid -fifties.
Looks like Englands main thought is to give the Aussies some batting practise......poor bowling, nearly 400 and counting mind almost 300 of those runs came from Watson & Smith (sounds like a firm of solicitors)...... Even Trott has got a wicket, says it all really......
Think England are just chucking pies at them now....470 odd now.....would have thought that Clarke would have called them in because surely he would want 15 - 20 overs at England tonight....
