I would say they do = apart from gross misconduct.

So in my eyes he should be unpaid.

Sometimes they're paid, sometimes they're not. Chances are he's not being paid for something like this.

You can be sure that he has broken his contract therefore will be not be entitled to any payment. That's what the club will be doing now doing now.
What's the betting he will contact the PFA and have the same result as last time? i.e. nowt

Often if you are looking to actually terminate a contract - or take a major measure like suspending without pay for a long period of time - you would suspend on full pay to begin with so you don't look like you are prejudicing the outcome. That's the same in any walk of life (though a lot of companies just do their own thing and can sometimes get bit on the arse for it), to suspend without pay is clearly a punishment and can be a touch dodgy if done before an investigation as it suggests you aren't really going to do a proper investigation as you already think the person is guilty. Hope that makes sense.

Not sure about in this case (you guys seem convinced its him) but I would be surprised if it was suspended without pay to be honest.

You're right mate. To begin with he will most likely be paid but I imagine the investigation will be pretty swift.

Not heard any denials from the idiot thus far and his account has now been deleted.
Bloody Footballers sit there in their mansions laughing at the likes of me who work 40 hours a week for less than they get in the time it takes to type a stupid message on the internet.
    **** you Bardsley,

Footballers and Twitter should be kept apart.

But if it wasn't for twatter or instagram then there would be a lot of people in support of Bardsley (me included) - personally I'm glad he's done this as I can say "**** Off" - I loved him playing for us and always thought that he had a lot of time for the fans - but this has proved me very very wrong and the bloke can go without any disappointment from me

I always liked Bardsley and had a lot of time for him, however he's behaved like a prime cnut with the Casino thing and now this.

Hope the club does it right and Terminates his contract; though that may be what he's hoping for as he'll be able to find another club outside the transfer window.

These overpaid tw*ts earn more in one week than I do in a year and they can't behave in a responsible, professional manner !

Thing is - if he wants that then why not sit down with the club and say "I agree not to take a payoff if you end my contract" instead of this **** - it would leave him having a lot more respect from myself (and probably you as well silksworth). If he wants to be able to find a club outside of the window then I have a lot of respect for that (as he is injured it will be impossible during the window) - for this I have zero tolerance and respect and hope the club is investigating thoroughly. Before this I reckon he would've had a good reception if he ever came back - now I reckon he'll get a similar reception to Darren **** - sorry - did I mis-spell his surname??

If he is the true culprit he should be instantly dismissed.

For a player to mock his team mates/supporters/employers because they have lost a match is unforgivable.

He's either very stupid , or as another poster has pointed out , trying to engineer a move.

Or even possibly innocent , which I doubt.

Agree with early post, if this is true it's got to be gross misconduct, and fire him, it's gotta be the same as other walks of life, undefendable.

Shame season before last, quality, but omg has he burned bridges in last few months

Can you sack anybody on the sick though, constructive dismissal, arghhhhh

If he's on the sick, give him SSP. Don't have to give him more.

Phil Bardsley has been banned indefinitely by Paolo Di Canio at Sunderland after mocking the opening day defeat against Fulham.

The Daily Mirror says Fulham are interested in the former Manchester United man, but would prefer a deal in January.

Sky understand Bardsley and his agent will meet with the club today.
