Ahhh... the benefits of owning a 360.. I'm not going anywhere near an Xbone. It's essentially just spying equipment. PS4 can piss off too.
Man Utd are licensed on PES. Only them though... so expect to see 'Yorkshire Orange' on there, with Anuko and Sogba.
In fairness, they haven't had incorrect player names for about 10 years now. It's only the licensed stuff like leagues and teams which are wrong, but you can easily fix that by downloading a patch which includes all the correct stuff. I'm a big PES fan but they've had good likeness for faces for a few years now but they don't look realistic when you play it because their movement is so poor. Every player is just a portrait whose face never moves, so when they score they might do a massive knee slide with celebratory first-pump but they're still stoney-faced. The worst thing about PES is the commentary though, some of the things they've got Champion and Beglin saying are just cringeworthy.
I think if FIFA had the UEFA licenses and the graphics from PES, but gameplay-wise was like FIFA currently, it would be awesome. Oh, and the ability to edit nearly everything.
I much prefer the gameplay on PES. I know no one agrees with me on that but I think hardly anyone has played PES in about 10 years anyway because FIFA is so much more popular. It's the most frustrating game series ever because they regularly just take out a good feature that everyone likes and replace it with something stupid which makes no sense. They always end up reversing the decision a year later anyway. This year's PES is a joy to play, if a little easy.
To be honest, I probably PES more than FIFA at the moment. Just because of the Champions' League mode if anything. The only problem is, like you say, its a tad easy, even on its top difficulty.
I don't know why I even posted on a gaming thread. The last game I was any good at, was the table Space Invaders at The Star in Willerby, around 1980. They had proper games back then, a pint holder at one end and an ash tray at the other.
i just find it daft, fifa doesn't have uefa licenses so it's champions cup, just feels like a friendly match pes was amazing 2004-5-6, beat fifa all over then pes just flopped for years, don't think i'll ever go back now pes is too arcadey, the movement of the players is daft
I don't think I'd necessarily like the idea of a "best XI" thing - I think I'd get bored after one game. One thing I would like though (and it'll never happen) is a spin on career mode where you could start in previous seasons. For example, I'd love to be able to play from the start of the 03/04 season for a bit of nostalgia - but with current graphics and gameplay. Plus they'd be able to cancel out the unrealistic player growth simply with the knowledge of how players turned out. Like I said, it'd never happen as it'd be too much of an effort, but it'd be cool.
I would prefer era teams rather than best of teams. Here are some English team examples: Arsenal 03/04 Aston Villa 80/81 Blackburn Rovers 94/95 Chelsea 04/05 Liverpool 83/84 Man Utd 67/68 Man Utd 98/99 Nottm Forest 79/80 There are loads more, but I can't be arsed to type any more.
Do you remember Asteroids? Played on a flat table so you could fit as many pints as you liked on the frigger. My favourite was the Way Of The Exploding Fist. So lifelike it's as if you were there.
