According to newsnow, we are supposed to be signing Scott Wootton from Scumchester tomorrow for a nominal fee + extra payments based on appearances & a sell on clause. Apparently Moyes has too many centre halves at his disposal.
Hmm, he could be great for all I know however probably the one position where I was calling for some more experience. Both Lees and Pearce are decent defenders imo on there day but consistency and mistakes follows them because they are less experienced and have no one playing beside them to just point em in the right path. Admittedly we are very light there though
He was probably third or fourth choice for mcd but of course nominal fee became the selling point so this is one of the two signings gfh sanctioned. I'm wetting myself with excitemenr
According to Wiki he is 6' 1" tall, been loaned out a few times but never really made too many appearances. Started at Liverpool refused a youth contract and signed for Manchester was captain of their academy team in 2010 Hopefully the manager has been watching him and this is not a complete gamble, we shall see.
In case anyone hasn't seen it, it's on the lufc Facebook page that he's signing a 3 year deal later this week

Well it's now official, signed a 3 year deal. So, we have the centre half added to the squad that we so badly needed, now for the winger we so badly need. I know he's a scummer but it's nice we're signing young players and not has beens. He's played few games for them, including the champs league albeit when they've already qualified but it's good experience.
Open minded on this one, can't help but scratch my head in wonder thinking back to the manager saying we need an experienced defender. No doubt this was one of his cheaper targets, is this the board going for the cheap alternative to keep the manager happy. Guess we shall see when the starting 11 is announced for the next game.
He'll prove to be a good signing. Its certainly not a Warnock signing or a loan and like it or not he's from a good pedigree. I hope hes our answer to our 6 yard nightmare from a defensive prospective. Interesting to see who he replaces, at the moment in my opinion its got to be Lees.
At least he's young and has potential. We could still do with an experienced centre half, if only for them to learn from, but my god it's nice seeing us signing youngsters with potential and not the usual 30+ year old journeymen. The competition may help Lees and Pearce in itself
I'm really happy with this signing tbh! He will become a very good player and I think he will do well for us this season too! Now for the winger!
