Eye up, get yer whippets out !!!

McCormack HAS COME OUT AND SAID HE WOULD LOVE TO SIGN AN EXTENTION TO HIS CONTRACT. The 27 year old has been linked with a possible move to Boro, but the lad DOES NOT want to go. GFH, leave the lad alone.....

Scott Wooton could become a Leeds Utd player as soon as today. The Scum centre half has not managed to break into the first team squad, and a penned deal for the 6 foot 2, 21 year old looks increasingly likely.... Thoughts? What, if anything is he likely to cost? Will he be good enough for a starting slot???

Davide Somma could be off to Barnsley. Thoughts???

    Morning all <ok>

Glad to hear that from Ross, not at all surprised though, I just hope GFH take notice we need to keep hold of him!

As for the Wooton lad, don't know anything about him at all, but 6 foot 2 is a start. I was hoping we'd get an experienced CB in to be honest, but if McD has seen something in him I'm still willing to trust his history as a scout and say it will work out. Somma to Barnsley would be a decent move for him as long as he stays off the treatment table. Good luck to him (though not against us obviously!!)

Morning!! Agree that GFH can make a massive statement keeping Ross. That would show some ambition. and lift the dressing room as well. Wootton hasn't made the Scum squad of 25 now that he has to be named having reached 21, and there will be other talented youngsters in the Prem who will go the same way. He won't cost a bomb because if he stays at Scum he can't play anyway, and hopefully we've got ourselves another Scum diamond (think Giles and Strachan). I really hope Somma gets another chance, and has an injury free run this time around. He always played his heart out in a Leeds shirt, unfortunately he did a Bridges.

Morning all. All Ross wants is a contract extension. Ive made my view on this clear and am not going to get angry today over the deal. For once GFH, give it to him. Its clear McD didnt get the support he hoped for because I can guarantee Wooton wasnt first choice. It's a nominal fee so probably 100k. So here we have another Smith arriving. Completely unproven and we have to hope they amount to something a la Hall. If these guys dont work out, we'll be left with more immovable deadwood next year. This guy better work out cos we cant afford any more signings that fail. This is clearly one of the signings our chairman was bragging about two weeks back as he mentioned a centre half, so I doubt if the winger he mentioned will be worth losing sleep over either

I still think Somma can do a job for us. We are crying out for a finisher of his calibre! Only thing is, he is a luxury in terms of minutes of the treatment table. A fit Somma could be the answer, but can we afford to chuck money at him when hes not playing? Nope. So a pay as you play deal would be ideal, but I would wish him the best of luck if he moved on and I wouldnt blame him for a steady pay cheque.

Wooton in for Lees or Pearce? Last season it was a no brainer but Pearce is showing his potential now. Lets just hope Wooton is handy in the 6 yard box and cuts out all the soft goals we let in there <ok>

Somma was released but told he could still train with us and is still in an around the squad.

Was rumoured 2 week ago that BMac was gonna offer him a contract and Somma was quoted as saying "he would love to stay"

If he's getting himself fit and can stay injury free, he could certainly do a job for anyone at this level. Posibly worth a pay as you play contract.

    Morning,

Like any player I don't get to see play it's almost impossible to know what to expect and this goes for Scott Wootton, I know next to nothing about him other than what's on wikipedia. The thing being, Brian McDermott must, so if he does bring him in then he deserves every opportunity and I hope he does great.

By the sounds he's been around the block a bit already, playing as a youth for Tranmere, Liverpool and Manure then loans to 4 football league clubs in the last 3 years. Hopefully he's learnt how to pick up his man and get a header in coz that's what we're lacking back there.

He played two games before having his loan spell terminated, doesn't say who terminated the loan.

Phil Bardsley has had a big falling out with Di Canio and is available on loan. What do we think? Where does he play in defence?

Mainly RB I think, and he's not that good. Certainly no better than Peltier and probably earns 3 times as much

We have Pelts and Byram. I do not believe Byram will leave, well, not this season anyway. I was thinking if Bardsley was a centre back, then might be worth looking at...
