Thirsk 3.00 Eland Ally 16/1 e/w 5.00 El McGlynn 25/1 e/w Both very speculative bets, small stakes for an interest. Bondi Beach Boy looks to have a nice chance to win again and I think he will be hard to beat, 5/1 seems very fair but ive never backed him before and I wont be jumping on now.
I was thinking of having a play on El Mcglynn tomorrow so with you putting it up its a definite play now. It's the 19th tomorrow by the way
Morning all, Looks a very tricky day today. One for me: 15:00 Thirsk - Waseem Faris 4/1. Good luck with all selections and bets!
Afternoon all im going against a couple of you in the 3 oclock the only bet found so far that looks value and that is chosen one ew good luck all
Me an ma boy are making the trip to York Thursday an Friday any local connoisseurs of the area point me in the direction of the places to be for a pint after racing?
Banyans is a nice new bar that just opened last month, bouncers arent dick heads which makes a change for a bar. Theres loads of decent bars on that 'posh side' of town so just google maps banyans and you'll see loads round there. Avoid places like Yates, vodka revs etc on race days cos they r full of nobs. The windmill is an alright stop on the way to/from the racecourse because it shows footy/racing on the tv's.
I was going to back the Newland horse, Orthodox Lad, later on but the price has been blown to bits so it's a no bet today. Serves me right for not betting it last night. Theinconvennienttruth: there's plenty of nice bars on the river so you'll not go too far wrong by heading to Pitcher & Piano on Coney Street. There's also a Living Room there across the bridge. There's a great tapas bar in York near the Minster and a really good pub 100yds from the theatre. Forgot their names though.
And, if you head to the Shambles, there's decent pubs within the Belgian beer shop which, coincidentally, sells really good craft beers. Not sleazy at all. Just a decent place to have a nice beer in a decent atmosphere. If you make the shrt train journey to Leeds, Friends of Ham is 100yds from the station and is absolutely brilliant.
Ah right nice one fellas, there's a living rooms in Liverpool were I go so ill get involved in that and will give Banyans a go for sure thanks again
Glad I avoided orthadox lad, 13/8 into 4/6 and gets beat Ypres at 5.00 thirsk looks good now bondi beach boy has won again beating this one narrowly last time.
had a small e/w on Taaresh on the tote-- was sure it would be placed-- these weak races always pay to take on odds on shots--especially last time out winners--flatter to deceive....
i have it between ypres and last years winner See Clearly--was given that as some info on sat, but as its fav, hardly seems worthy of a mention !
I think Ypres was unlucky from that wide draw, not helped however by Serena Brotherton using her whip in the right hand at the finish, the horse was coming across to race the winner but she kept asking it to go away to the middle, which it did.
