Scary if you think that was Chelsea without Mata and Luiz starting as well. The title race is going to be much closer this season but I think the Mourinho factor could give Chelsea the edge. Cheers for the comments Bucks Blue, if we can repeat our effort and endeavour from the 2nd half against the teams around us we should be fine.
That's not a bad summary from the Chelski lad. Hes right about Graham, I aren't with those who think he is going to solve our goalscoring problems. To be fair though with that onslaught in the first half our forwards were just dealing with hasty clearances to relieve the pressure. It doesn't matter who you had up front, without proper service any decent striker would look poor. But Graham is going to have to provide a lot more than he has shown if he is to make his mark. As for Chelsea, they have as good a chance of winning the Prem than any of the top 4.
I think our forwards, whoever they are will benefit from having Thudd and Livermore on the pitch. Midfield ball retention until then was dreadful. Encouraged by our pass completion and accuracy, albeit was mostly our own half. I do agree that we could really do with another striker.
Cheers for the comments. I thought it was going to be a cricket score after the initial 20 mniutes and was surprised you took your foot off the gas after that. Afterall, the title could come down to goal difference at the ened of the day. As for our fans. Well £50 a pop is a disgrace mate. It's not the West End, we're not minted up in Hull. There is a recession on. Good luck for the season, i think you'll just pip Citeh to the title.
I really dont see what all the fuss is about with Man City this season. They have spent money but im not so sure they have spent well. Negredo isnt that good, Soldado is a much better striker. Fernandinho is unproven at the very top level, Navas is a good signing but i dont think he can cover for all the problems they had last year. Not convinced by the manager either. Chelsea will win the league, thought it since the middle of last season, United second.
"What happened to your Premier team this weekend then, I saw some and they didn't even do anything. I don't think they tried". Verbatim quote from female colleague. Get ****ed off.
A good performance from a side tipped to get buried yesterday.Best result of the three promoted sides by some distance.I think that if you had either of the other two fixtures you would have got a point.
Yeah she supports Rervers or something. The simplicity with which some females look at football astounds me. "They didn't even get one" was another by someone else. "Get One"? Will have to put up with this dreck all year.
I really ****ing hate rugby fans and cant wait for the KC to be full on Saturday when it clashes with some game or other. I want to hear the response from the ****s who said City will have to switch the kick-off cos the ground would be empty otherwise. On that note, I see Wigan Athletic have switched their fixture to avoid clashing.
A rervers fan I know thought Chelsea was a town - you couldn't make it up. Oh and a town that wasn't in London.
All in all a very enjoyable day and game. Chelsea are only one of 5 teams that Can win the CL this season. We all know who the other 4 are. Chelsea are only 1 of 3 teams that can win the PL this season imo. The rest are playing for 4th and 5th and survival. I am happy with our overall performance and it was clear for all to see the difference that Huddleston and Livermore made when they came on. We will stay up of that i have no doubts. The saturday games showed who will struggle more so imo. Good Luck Chelsea. You have a class manager and very talented squad. Nevermind the your bench, the players who were sat in the stands would walk into most PL starting 11.
I'm quite confident but I would be more confident if we had a better striker - look at what Southampton have done. I think I would prefer Sagbo to Graham if I had to make a decision but it's unfair to judge only on playing Chelsea.
So very true. Norwich City will be a much better guide to where we are at the moment. The circus has gone and the Season Starts Here.
Some of them are actually shocked when I say that I thought City did alright yesterday. They can't comprehend it, like suddenly we're expected to go to Stamford Bridge and beat Chelsea. All the clueless nuggets who watch 1 England game every 4 years at a World Cup are coming out the woodwork with their outrageous opinions now. It's akin to me offering my opinion on which soap opera is the best having never watched any for years and then suddenly piping up with the news that I don't think the actors are particularly very good, and the story lines are not very credible. It would annoy them, so I hold my tongue. Do they afford the same respect back? No.
Certainly a lot of positives after the first 25 minutes, few teams would have stayed with Chelsea during that first period. Certainly feel more confident after seeing the game, that we can do OK and survive, particularly if Hudders and Jake stay fit. I tipped Chelsea for the title this season, and after watching the game nothing has changed by mind about it.
Go on then - who are the other 4? As well as Chelsea I'd say Man Utd, Man City, PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Juventus all have a realistic chance of winning.
