We canât afford Spurs star, admits QPR boss Ian CooperMonday, August 19, 2013 10:00 AM QPR manager Harry Redknapp fears he would be priced out of a move for Tottenham winger Andros Townsend. . .. Townsend enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Loftus Road last season, scoring twice in 12 games during Rangersâ ultimately unsuccessful bid to stay in the Premier League. Redknapp wants to add creative options to his side and sees Townsend as the answer, but believes the club would be unable to meet Tottenhamâs asking price for the 22-year-old. Redknapp said: âI couldnât see us being able to buy him, I think he would be too expensive for us. Andros did great last season but Tottenham donât want to sell him as far as I know.â However, the QPR boss admitted that he would welcome the chance to bring Townsend back to Loftus Road in another loan deal. âIâd love to loan him, but whether they would do that Iâm not sure,â he said.
I'm not sure he would want loan to the championship he could probably get a season loan to WBA, Norwich etc
Dammit, i was hoping this was about Parker. Best not do deal with spurs as we will get ripped off. We were lumbered with Jenas just for loaning Townsend last time and now he cant even make the team.
