t Aston Villa young players are getting better, you underestimate them at your own peril as we found out at Anfield last season. The gooners also found at the Emirates yesterday. This is the type of game Liverpool needs to win in order to challenge for the top four finish. Villa Park usually a good hunting ground for Liverpool: but we cannot take anything for granted. Benteke already scored two goals yesterday and he is very likely to be one of the highest goal scorer of the new season. Our new players are settling down well too, this is going to be a good game, one ends to another.
It would be a big disappointment if we lose next week, as long as we are positive we should have enough to get a win.
villa have improved to the point where i have them as top 10. i think the'r young team and additions looks good even though only one started yesterday. I think lfc will have to go some to get a result. (as in even a draw)
why? Annnnyway. This will be a tough game chaps. Villa are dangerous on the counter and we are prone to pacey counterattacking football, well we were last season. The more pressure we apply in attacking the more space we tend to leave down the flanks. I hope we approach this not looking to just impose our own game and give a lot of consideration to Villa's threats
well in fairness this'll be down to who deal with the oppoenents big man best... if we have 60% of the ball possession and sturridge is hard to handle we can have a good day. if we can't hold the ball that much and frankly if they have benteke run riot over agger we'll be in trouble. can't wait already
Are you sure that you can spare the time? After all it seems like you are on an intensive Goonification program.
Hopefully the extra midweek game for Villa will help us. I think we will have a better idea of what to expect after the Chelsea game. Arsenal scored in 6 minutes then hit the suicide button with 2 penalties and a late counter attack.
Important game but as has been said, Villa have Chelsea away midweek which will not be easy for them and Sturridge should be 100% match fit. We have to turn those 'well played, lots of shots, only got a point' games which this could be one of. 1-2 Liverpool
The thing with Villa are they are a young team and consistency will be the main thing. With youg teams you get them being outstanding one week then **** the next. Hopefully that trend continues
The key to winning this: Press like we did yesterday. Gerrard and Lucas control the midfield again. The front 4 play, create, link up and interchanged just like yesterday. Our finishing is better. Our defense is stronger in the air and from set pieces. We stop Benteke.
Nervous about the game but think we can do it. I know Arsenal scored early but I think we are a team that when we can get an early goal we seem to buzz about and really thump teams. The longer it goes 0-0 or a late 1-0 or down a goal, we struggle a bit still.
And Agonlahor. Apparently he played really well yesterday and our defenders will have to set up differently to deal with the pace that stoke don't have up front. Hopefully he plays out on wide right so Enrique can try and match him for pace & strength.
Villa offer an interesting problem for us. It's unlikely that we are going to go out and attack them in the same way as we would at Anfield. I would expect to see Hendo and Allen both used in our midfield to cover in front of Gerrard and Lucas. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see some form of diamond with Gerrard sitting in the center of it.
Me or Magic will have the Official one up soon We have said we will try and get them up early so we have chance to chew the fat
