Whereas you are happy for him to be here mate, I'm not, nor ever will be. It is not a footballing matter to me. You know, I really do try not to get drawn into these Barton threads, my opinion is pretty well established and will not be changing.
He wears the shirt and the support shown by QPR fans should go a long way to helping him with that ego He is playing well it seems and he gets my faith ... We can only deal with the now
As for me...I'm a long term loather of Barton and cant wait to see him gone BUT As for the OP. Barton has offered us more for the team than either Adel or Granero from the moment we got promoted; to date ! Does not detract from the fact that I hate the f**ker with a passion, just based PURELY on playing performances. IMHO Please read and understand that fully before you go ahead and slate it !
BARTON REPLACES ADEL.... ... and now is the player to divide opinions between the R's faithful it would seem.
I think the view of the vast majority on here is that Barton is a loathsome individual. Many are obviously waiting for his next red mist to say 'Told you so'. What ever you think of him will make no difference and his contribution to the team, at present, is very positive. It may be that there will be no takers for him by 2nd September and you may have to temper your loathing of him until January at least. He may just surprise us as he has in the past few weeks, if it helps lead us back to the PL he'll have gone some way to repaying us for last season's absence which contributed to our demise...
The violence wasn't directed at his team mates or the Club. On the pitch, I'd say that in general Barton has given every effort.
I don't like Barton but he's our player like it or not and while I would find it impossible to cheer him, I could never boo or wish misfortune on him while he is wearing our beloved hoops. I've decided in my own little mind that I and Harry should use him for whatever we can get out of him until we can get rid. Simples.
I watched he Fulham game mate...he didn't give that much TBH...ask FT..He was missing for very large parts of the game Why has he had no pre-season then...because he a tosser who don't care about us...get over it ! Cant believe you lot are still worshipping a player that abandoned us when we needed him. It may be coming up to world cup year but he aint gonna figure in it for any amount of time. He's used the club to get a move and abandoned those stupid enough to worship him.!! Didn't se him trying to stay and fight for his place with us this season..... #muggedoff
Are you for real? The violence affected the club in so many ways! Take the rose tinted off! If/when he has another melt down will you be defending him?
I don't Sooperhoop so please don't generalize....There is a lot of prejudice against Barton on here....BUT it is not representitve of how the majority of supporters feel about him. There's only one Joey Barton was sung loud and clear yeserday and on the opening game...He is by far our best player and was very harshly treated by QPR last season. We stand a good chance of promotion with him in our side...Even with the enevitable sending off....Without him it gonna be very tough...
I'm not generalizing, merely pointing out the position on our board. I'll be delighted if he is given the chance to prove all the doubters wrong and, at the same time, get us promoted. My main point is his absence last season was a big factor in our relegation, we can all see what we were missing. My concern is a last minute move, probably to West Ham, will set us back just as we appear to be gelling...
No matter how well he plays I will not sing his name or temper my opinion of him, the same way I wouldn't of supported Marlon King when we were after him or any other mindless, abusive, bullying thug!
I agree sooper.....but it was QPR who ostracised him. He would of stayed given the chance, and those 9 games would of gone very quickly...
I get the feeling some people want him to lash out and cost us a game. He had the perfect chance to do it yesterday.
Spot on. They just can't wait. Seems like they'd be more pleased at seeing Barton flip out than put in a decent performance. Whenever I see that Man City incident, Barton's snarling little Scouse mug makes me chuckle. If people are trying to pin our relegation on Barton then it seems pretty desperate.
Sorry mate, but I don't agree with hat. Joey has been playing very well & put he effort in. I don't know hismotives anddont really care TBH I want him to do wel nti we can F**k him off out of our club. He wasn't solely responsible for our relegation, but him, del, Cisse, Cesar etc are all responsible. Im happy for what he given us, but personally Id rather he was as far away from HQ as possible. I am no saint by any means, but this bloke is beyond help and we really don't want him associated with our team. I know and accept he has been good..but the bloke is an out & out Cnut !! He does have some posiives...but it is all far outweighed by the negatives..for me. Obviously, everyone has their own views, but I; for one will not be flip flopping from good to bad......Sadly..I agree ith Roller on this and find it very hard to find away back from that.. Don't want him...Get rid....PLEASE !
If this is directed at me you wrong. I'm not waiting in the wings for him to **** up, more like **** off & be someone else's problem. Don't want to see him in hoops at all. I lay blame for relegation firmly at MH's door, does that also make me desperate or precious?
I detest everything Barton is about and still want him gone from my club. But in the interests of fairness...he was outstanding in the 2nd half yesterday; probably his best performance in a hooped shirt. People still see something in him that I miss however. His first half was average to say the least with the usual range of incomplete passes and risky tackles. And sooner or later he's going to blow up and cost us dearly. Parker - if he will come - must surely be the better option for the midfield bulldog.
