I think the general consensus has changed on SC to be fair. Everyone I know likes it. Be Here Now is still disliked for some reason. Yes, it is a bit long, but it is a great album. It's main problem was that it isn't Definitely Maybe or Morning Glory...
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours The Jam - Snap The Eagles - Hotel California ELO - Out of the Blue Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks Oasis - Morning Glory Rolling Stones - Rolled Gold Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell That's all off the top of my head
I'm always amazed my how many people list The Queen Is Dead as their favourite. It's got some fine tracks but there's also some ****e on there such as Vicar in a tutu. I'm in total agreement with both Morrissey and Marr in that Strangeways Here We Come is by far their greatest work. It's up there as my all time fave with Ladies and Gentlemen We're Floating In Space by Spiritualised.
Skinhead moonstomp.......Symarip Legend....Bob Marley Greatest hits....Prince Buster. ( all bad manners, the Specials, madness, Desmond Dekker, jimmy cliff, Trojan reggae and reggae stuff )
I know what you mean, but I like all the songs on TQID, including Vicar In A Tutu. I do really like Strangeways, but I prefer their debut and TQID over it. The only album by them I don't like is Meat Is Murder. Apart from 2 or 3 songs, I find it a poor album. I did nearly put Strangeways in my list, but having 3 Smiths albums would be overkill.
Radiohead - The Bends REM - Up U2 - The Joshua Tree Drive-By Truckers - Buttholeville Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights Alt-J - An Awesome Wave Jason Isbell - Southeastern Radiohead - Hail to the Thief Tom T. Hall - In Search of a Song Tom Petty - Wildflowers
Thank goodness, I thought I was going to be the only one who mentioned Radiohead... The Bends is class.
Indeed it is. Thought another album would have topped it for me by now, but I think it will always be my favorite. I know so many Radiohead fans to think it's blasphemous to rate that ahead of Kid-A and OK Computer, but I don't think it's even close.
Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Though I never have got why OK Computer is considered one of the greatest albums ever. It isn't even close.
No it's two songs I forgot about this
