Dunne was great too until his blunder where we almost conceded... apart from that he was flawless, displayed real premiership-level calmness and intelligence. An improved performance from Henry as well which was nice to see, he's slowly getting up to speed. He often lingers on the ball a little longer than necessary, almost doubting his own passing ability. He'll look up, see the correct pass, then check it's safe 3/4 more times. Probably as a result of 2 seasons getting spanked with Wolves. Still, much improved!
    Even BZ was marginally better!

"O'Neil - 9. MOM for me. He was brilliant. Excellent dummies, great passing, wonderful flicks. Kept the ball moving quickly, and was an excellent substitution. I feared we would lose our spark when Hoilett went off, but boy oh boy was O'Neil good. What a quality player we might have on our hands! Far too good for this level." That's what I wrote on my player ratings. He was amazing!

Just goes to show that we don't need to look at Real Madrid, Scum etc., to find players to get us promoted.

That's great news. Following the game on the BBC website gives such a warped perception - I was thinking we were one dimensional and devoid of ideas, so it's great to know I'm wrong.

Strong performaces from our veterans - Flyer will be pleased.

Good to hear about Dunne. Was thinking he was integral in us keeping our first clean sheet in the league. His organisation skills, just like Nelsen, will be vital if we want to be succesfull this season.

This is what was most important today. When we went up last time we kept 21 clean sheets (I think). Not letting in goals is what breads confidence throughout the team.

We started slowly, improved after 15/20 mins, then dominated the 2nd half. I think we'd figured Ipswich out by half time. I'd like to reiterate what jqpr said too, Barton and Onouha(future POTY?) were very good.

O'Neil was a revelation. He did everything right and looks very fit. He ran from box to box with ease. If he continues with performances like that he will drive us forward.

He was great...not really heard of him before...
what a relief to get that last minute goal....A few had already left before the goal....strange when their was always going to be quite a bit of stoppage time...

Agreed with how good O'neill was but cant agree with the mom performance, Barton and Onouha were immense and Dunne had a good game,Henry was better today but having Hill at Left back worried me.overall it was a fair performance but the next 2 away games will tell us more, a couple of clean sheets would be handy.

O'Neill looked good, but you can't really give MOM to someone who played less than half the game. Barton looks different class in this league.

Hill looked shaky at left back during the first half- but maybe that was because he hasn't played there for a while? We lost a bit of attacking impetus without Suk Yung/Traore's forward runs initially. Hill was good in the second half though, and won so many of his headers (even against McGoldrick). Ipswich have a very direct style, which is Clint's "bread + butter"- and perhaps why he was selected ahead of the more attack minded Suk Yung?

O'neill is a good player. Should start from now on imo. Glad to hear Dunne played well and not surprised that Barton looks good at this level. All in all, a good start to the season me thinks.
Also.......great to see Swansea get spanked at home first game after last season!!

A ggod solid performance today even though my blood pressure soared. Apart from his dodgy backpass I thought Dunne was excellent along with Barton and Onouha. O'Neil when he came was more than a handful. I still worry about the defence as a unit. When Simpson goes on a run we leave the back door wide open. Better teams will punish us on the break. Still not sure about Henry although better than the Sheff Wed game.
