SOD & Kilkenny - Tripe. SOD brought Kilkenny off ready for the H/T walking football. 3-0 down last week. 1-0 down this week. And SOD takes off Kilkenny. I've been telling you lot on here that tippy/tappy football doesn't wash for us. We're not good enough. Especially in L1. My first game today and been told we play a new passing game - My bloody a**o. Hoofing as always but wait for it we're now aiming at Baldock FFS. The midfield is useless, utterly useless. You can forget Wagstaffe. Sorry Shiny Wynter on today's showing needs a bomb up his rear end. Bryan looks lightweight. As for ******g Kilkenny, SOD take a bow. I hold out a degree of hope for Pack. Marv scored a brilliant goal last week and is dropped. Somebody needs to explain this one because it aint football logic. I said we'd be bottom 3 by the end of August, I won't be far wrong.
But we will not be bottom 3 come end of season, in the top ten at least by end of season, that's when it counts Redprintt!
This s the first season I have not bought a season ticket in god knows how many years as the wife and I had a baby so are current income means I couldn't afford to get one until January when she returns to work so I cannot comment on the players performances but I can understand the frustration of the fans who are going as they were promised a new start and the club showed positive signs by the signings they made but 1 point from 9 isn't a good start and now the club has two difficult away games against MK Dons and Gillingham. Still think the club could do with another striker as it sounds like there is no plan B as SOD is now limited on tactics as he has sold most of his wide and forward players
That is the problem, we **** around with Kilkenny in the starting lineup which limits us to basically 2 subs because he has to be replaced. Stop playing him SoD or you will lose the fans quickly, by all means bring him on if you want a giggle but not at our expense. Sorry Smhbcfc I know you don't like us running players down on here, but I don't want Kilkenny in the team
Kilkenny's ball distribution was very poor, he even managed to pass a harmless ball out for a corner when he was about 35 yards from goal-Bryan, who I have accused of being lightweight had a very good game and linked well with Baldock. JET Orchestrated much of the good play and got another goal- Credit to SOD for making an early tactical change, last week I was bemoaning him for not doing the same considering goals came after 43 and 45 minutes. Big enough today to drop Fontaine, he does now need to do the same with Kilkenny-
Starting to lose patience with SOD.... He continues to shoot himself in the foot with selections, Had this been McInnes we would be calling for his head.
Just don't understand why he persist with him? Like you said his ball control was ridiculous and when he ballsed one clearance up he stands there blaming others? Bryan is a little live wire and improving everygame, not what Redprint wants because he wants bullying Bambie on ice players with no control, and no finace. We will improve as there won't be any better than Wolves down at AG this season, but no hopefully some fans will realise when they were wondering why Wolves were the bookies favourite to go up this season.
Wolves have £16m in parachute payments. They are the best team we'll play all season. We'll finish in the top ten this season while Wolves will win the league. Stop overreacting.
I am totally confused on the way I feel about SOD, I think this side is progressing and I like the vibrant idea of young skilful players doing it on the pitch, I am walking out of the gate pissed off with the results but liking the team, the players and their efforts, so at the moment I like a bunch of losers, I am so confused I think I'll have another bottle of Stella...
I feel the same wiz. Ive just watched harry potter and necked 3 kopparbergs on my 4th now.... being a city fan is the best feeling ever but watching them for the last 3 seasons has been frustrating!
SO'D's after match comments: Read more at http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20130817-sodpostwolves-998643.aspx#zCW7X28mMJ8FyoHx.99 Now I'm a bit puzzled at this; I understand "defensively we were poor" but while I welcome The Whiner's early bath because I don't rate him as a footballer, SO'D takes off a midfielder because "defensively we were poor". Yet was it the back four he's referring to or the midfield? Can anyone explain? As for the game, I've posted elsewhere earlier this evening that I expected a heavier defeat today, and the second half fightback was a tremendous show by the youngsters. As we keep saying, they will make mistakes but will either learn from it or fall by the wayside. But I wouldn't mind betting that the Williams', Wynters', Bryans', Flints', Mahoneys', Cunninghams, of this world do not carry on making the same mistakes for three seasons like some players who were not on the pitch either all the way through or at the end of the game. And yes according to radio, Fielding made several important saves. Those who have not been carried away into dreamland by SO'D's charisma, knew August was going to be about as hard as it gets for City this season. Am I confident we will improve the results after this month? Not entirely but there is a very good chance if these youngsters are quick learners.
Bit of a rant there reddprint and if there's anyone who understands your frustration then it's me. How much longer must we listen to false hope and promises before someone gets it right? No one expected miracles overnight and we all knew that the transformation would take some time but here we are going in to another season being told to be patient. Patience will soon wear very thin especially as we still haven't kicked the habit of throwing away points either early in the game or during the last 10 minutes. Just to remind the faithful that we have 1 measly point from 3 games, 2 of which were at home, and unless the point total improves over the next 5 games we will find ourselves falling seriously off the pace. Cold hard facts that hurt.
Agree Shiny, and with you Wiz. After relegation we are still falling and whilst Wolves will probably win this league, results, formation and general tinkering are not encouraging at all. I knew we'd lose yesterday, we are so bloody predictable, and I am beginning to think we'll be well short of the 74 points I guessed we'd get at the end of the season at this rate. As for those of you expecting 30 points from the first 10 games and end of season tally's approaching 100 points, you might want to have drastic rethinks. Nice easy trip to MK Dons next
No ROD - I'm happy for people to say what they think about players ability - for example I have said repeatedly that IMO Kilkenny can't play in a 4 man midfield. My beef is people disrespecting our players - there's a difference which I think everyone knows. I did not boo Kilkenny when he was taken off.
the manager will get judged on results and so far it doesn't look good. I know we are only 3 games in but like under Millen and DM 3 games soon became half a season. Yes Wolves are probably the best team in the league and I doubt many of us thought we would win that but if we had lost but won the other 2 games and have been on 6 points or even 4 points I doubt fans would have issues. From what I have seen and heard it doesn't appear like anything has changed since last season. The odd thing for me is that at every club SOD has previously managed he has always played 4-4-2 yet for us he has tried playing narrow with 1 up front. Maybe he needs to go back to what he knows as I still have my doubts over playing Baldock as a lone striker as this league is going to be too physical to have a striker of his build play up front on his own. With the current players I would have gone --------------Fielding--------------- Moloney---Flint---Williams---Bryan Wagstaff--Wynter--Pack--Cunningham ----------Baldock----JET------------ From what I have seen of Cunningham over the years I think he could be a better winger than full back as he has the pace, likes to run with the ball and can cross the ball, very similar to Bale who original started as a full back.
I feel like I have to come to SODs defense! OK so he might not be the messiah that we all want. But he did state, early on, that this was not going to be a quick fix! and that we should be in it for the long haul. I'm prepared to give him some time with these new players. I, for one, was pleased with the second half showing and think that the young lads will grow into playing together and although I don't believe that we are a team that will gain automatic promotion I can see us being in the top half come the end of the season, anything above that will probably be a bonus!! Hey it's only been three games let's stay positive. at least for a while.
Did you mean you booed the decision to change him, or cheered when he was taken off? I cheered because I have never rated him in the position he chooses to play in. I went to Watford last season when Kilkenny came on as a sub, and played further up field looked ok. But down his normal thing dropping back and becoming pants again. Del bought Morris on who immediately told the idiot to get back up front. I think he can play in a midfield of 4 he doesn't play that bad when he pushes forward and I'm his biggest critic. But he thinks he's great and wants to dictate games and tries to play just in front of the defence where he is dog ****e. He can be effective as a sub playing forward but he just doesn't stay there.
4-4-2 is out of the window. Also SOD has said he doesn't see Bryan as a left back only and Left Mid. Ill be glad if Kelly makes a amazing recovery tonight If I was SOD I would chuck Elliott in the team and have a 3 man midfield with pack and wynter supporting
