    Hurrah!
This was mentioned in another thread about lane hoggers and tailgaters on motorways being a pet hate.
They have introduced a new law whereby lane hoggers ie the dickheads that don't move to a clear inside lane on the motorway can be given an INSTANT £100 fine and 3 points.
    Same goes for tailgaters.
    Without going to court.

About time IMHO the saddoes doing it have got away with it for far too long.

Hope they do the same with the non indicators.

Doesnt go far enough imo. A £1000 fine would have sent out a clear message and been a deterrent. Same as mobile phone users whilst driving it should be a £1000 fine.

Will be difficult to police tho.

Unmarked car and no need to sit and wait.
Easier than catching speeders mate, they only need to be on the motorway and they will be filling their boots immediately!

    Me too. <ok>
I strongly believe the hoggers are the main cause of tail backs.

I know some of these bad drivers have to be stopped but we now have the situation where the police are judge and jury and the only recourse that you have is to appeal at YOUR cost + its going to be your word against theirs. As someone who has sat in a court and watched a police inspector tell a pack of lies about a telephone conversation I had with him (not criminal btw) then I have severe reservations about this. Also can you imagine the scenario where the local constabulary are strapped for cash due to government cuts so how can they make money? I will leave you to work that one out

    My pet hate this.

It IS in the highway code that even if you are doing the speed limit you should ALWAYS move out of the way of a faster moving vehicle AS SOON AS IS SAFE.

Problem is that these ****ers don't look in their mirrors, and being stuck behind a dickhead can ultimately lead to anger and aggressive driving after they move.

There is so much appalling driving on the roads it is untrue, ****ers who can't park, so take up half a road, I made some twat get back in his car and pull it forward the other day cos the ****er had left half a car space, don't they teach people to ****ing park nowadays?

The day I passed my test I was proud as punch, seeing some of the reprobates they allow on the roads cheapens that every day of my life. I did 34,ooo miles last year, and I swear 22,000 of them were spent dealing with some twats clueless driving.

Have to agree with you on this....not a good idea to be giving the traffic police even more clout!!! your word against theres, wonder who will win that one :-/ you have no chance.

Should we not all be doing the speed limit..... thats breaking the law isn't it?
That way no matter what lane you were in everyone would be doing the same speed ;-)

Even though the national limit is 70mph on the motorways, you,ll find that some vehicles have a further restriction, so your argument about us all doing the same speed dosn't hold water, that is unless you want everyone to observe the lower speed imposed on another vehicle. So if a vehicle was to say be limited to 60mph on the motorway, everyone has to drop their speed. Wont work mate.
