I find it funny that you all question CBK on his posts when it is and always has been quite obvious that his posts are sarcastic and just having a laugh. Seems to fly right over some people's heads and I suspect that makes CBK laugh even more.
I want the club to do well, but not at all costs. Those "costs" are things & values that I personally hold true, that others may not. If the club doesn't do well, then that's football. Ups & downs. Been mostly ups in my time, so think Saints fans on the whole have been very lucky. I've always been more interested in being entertained football wise, in a good atmosphere with the club respecting its loyal supporters, not exploiting them. Saints still tick more boxes than they cross, but those ticks are being eroded one by one in my view. When the crosses outweigh the ticks, then I'll stop going to games (after watching well over 1,000 in my life thus far). It's more being devils advocate than being negative. Some of it in jest, most of it is how I feel. Often, its the readers perspective that defines whether something is postive, neutral or negative.
I think I can understand where you are coming from CBK........I have probably been a Saints fan longer than yourself. However the one fact that we all have to accept is the club has to move with the times. I can understand why a lot of fans are seeing this as a coup. Why not, it certainly will not harm the club? It will raise the clubs profile somewhat. When we were in the premier or the old Div1 previously, our profile was raised considerably but sadly as we went down so did our profile. They have different marketing methods now and for us to become a "known brand again" we have to take whatever we can get as a way of raising our profile. All we need now is to start winning a few things or at least kicking a few asses as we did last year and people will once again remember the mighty saints.
They must really be targeting Japan and trying to break the PES stranglehold there because no one anywhere else is going to be interested in him being on the cover.
"Some of it in jest, most of it is how I feel" - so not exactly all of us being hoodwinked, just able to ascertain that behind the amusing asides there's truth in dem hills.... CBK - I actually agree with you as a whole, but I think there needs to be a fair bit of flexibility on those principles if we want to do well. I suspect you have a few more 'key' boxes than many, but genuinely fair play to you for sticking by your principles on it.
Yep that's why the patches are called WENB patches. 'Winning eleven next gen blog'. PES soesn't have licences for all the teams and badges. Fifa does. So you buy PES (for half the price) then install the patches which give you all the teams, all the leagues. I even have all the real 'sampled' chants for the Prem teams. Saints fans singing 'Adam Lallana, cha cha cha cha cha and OWTS etc. Fifa will never beat Winning eleven in Japan. Its almost a culture over there
I gave up on PES after I moved house and had a 3 month break from it, found Konami removed my account, even tho it states it will remove dormant accounts after 6 months. FIFA has caught up (probably overtaken) PES for gameplay but back in the day PES ruled. Does wolf still make the patches? I would like FIFA to adopt the wait untill a break in play to goto the pause menu menu (online), not pause game/ make subs / go back to game and wait for next break for it to happen.
I'm not into the online side of things. I used to for a while but found there are far too many 'sore losers' that will just leave your game hanging and walk away if they are losing. Of course that means you have to let the game run or you lose the points. I just mess about with my Sons now (or rather they do the messing about) No idea on the Wolf bit. Chap named Rob seems to post up all the patches. I still prefer the PES gameplay to FIFA. FIFA Still seems to be like Basketball. From one end to the other in less than a second - Goal. PES is that bit more realistic for me. Harder to score and lower scores. http://winningelevenblog.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=11
Just using sarcasm alone doesn't make his posts entertaining though. There's a difference between intelligent, satirical comments and abrasive, piss-taking sarcasm
Seen rumours on twitter that St Marys stadium will be on the new Fifa 14? anyone else know anything on this??
Yeah thats what i thought and am hoping for... guess we will have to wait til something is confirmed by EA
We were listed by EA as an official partner among only about 10-12 or so others, so it seems like St Mary's may be in the game, but obviously no guarantees based on that.
A guy on twitter who is regularly ITK announced that Goodison Park was in the game (Everton), he announced this a couple of hours or so before EA made the official announcement. He was later quizzed about other stadiums and he said that St Mary's and Villa Park are also in it, although there is no confirmation yet... Also if we are in the game, any chance they could out the tunnels on the correct side of the pitch? Noticed that in real life Spurs camera faces opposite the tunnel/bench yet in the game it's opposite, if you're OCD like me I think this loses the realism...
Trailer for FIFA14, voiced, bafflingly, by someone who sounds like Patrick Stewart. We're in there, but don't blink or you'll miss it!
