Putting up a couple of fancies tomorrow.

Firstly, SABRINAS SECRET 4.50 Newcastle 5-1 from the Tom Tate yard. They have been patient with this filly and now she goes handicapping I reckon we will see a much better performance. In all three starts she has been way too headstrong but the signs were more encouraging last time. She gets in off 62 and I will be amazed if she doesn't turn out to be better than that.

Secondly at Catterick in the evening I am keen on MONEY TEAM 6-1 6.40 who has recently been sold out of Bill Turners yard, I expect for a tidy profit. He is a nice colt and has already recorded a couple of tidy looking victories, last time by five lengths. Between those two wins were a defeat behind the decidedly useful Thunder Strike at Epsom and a loss at Chester in a roughish race. Two quirky courses. Back on a track that he has already won at I think he will take all the beating as the yard look to recoup some of their outlay!

Afternoon, team. Hope everyone well. This is traditionally the day of the year when I open the old racing page and exclaim loudly, ‘Cor blimey, by ‘eck, a Claiming Race at Newbury what is the world coming too?!?’. In saying that though some old faves are available priced in the £7k-£20k range so anyone with some ‘leftover lolly’ might wish to consider investing in one of the steeds.

No bet for me today but racing isn’t without interest and I’m particularly looking forward to the debut of MUNJAZ at Newmarket this eve (6.30). As I said on the other thread was intrigued that old boy Gosden was considering a Listed heat for this Sea The Stars colts debut. Not one to call his geese swans he’s obviously been showing something at home to warrant such an entry and is bred in the purple as his dam is a half sister the 1,000 Guineas heroine, Virginia Water. Could Munjaz be Sea The Stars breakthrough beast, mewonders?!? However, those bookie chappies are taking no chances re this one and shouting a best priced 5/4. Only a certified lunatic would take such odds about an unraced 2YO so it’ll be a watching brief for me.

Good luck if you do wager though.

Flight Of The Saker 4/1 6:20 Tramore - Looked an improving type for Johnny Murtagh last week when scoring comfortably at Sligo, is 13lb higher for that win tonight but Luke Dempsey takes off 7lbs to help off-set that tonight and should Flight Of The Saker turn up in the same form he will prove very difficult to beat.

There are now 2 non-runners in Munjaz’s maiden so he’s gone even shorter with most firms. Deffo no more than a watching brief, for me, on old boy Gosden’s animal.

Am off to God’s own county, Devon, for a week and half from ‘first light’ tomorrow morning so until the next time...take care!

In addition to MUNJAZ, as already pointed out by Sir Barney, another blueblood to note today is ZERFAAL in the 2.20 at Newbury. A full-brother to 2,000 Guineas winner MAKFI, he is certainly one to watch.

ZERFAAL slow away and didn't get the clearest of runs. He was not given a hard race and ran on well at the end.

The more vociferous of golfing fan will sure to be weighing in with money for the 3:45 where Mash Potato is running and is not without chance.

Frustrating that flag start Flight of the Saker caught*flat footed*and loses all chance when the starter let them off unfairly I thought but oh well, we'll live to fight another day and he runs on to get 2nd too . Would have won had he started better.

8th out of 9 and 5th out of 9. Come on Stick, you're miles better than this. Will put my money where my mouth is. 8.05 Newmarket. MALEKAT JAMAL. Win bet 3-1.

Its hardly sticking your neck on the line saying a 3/1 shot is going to win! I just have to say without causing an argument or debate that the likes of Roto, Stick, Uncle and a few others (I won't try name the rest for fear of causing offence to anyone I miss out) can put as many losers up as they like; they've earned the right by putting up winner after winner after winner, regularly and consistently for a long time now and I for one am grateful that they share their knowledge and opinions with the rest of us because it improves my knowledge of the sport and increases my bank balance!

How are you pbew ? Good I hope I like to check my bets so obviously looked at yours I think you have picked a nice horse ! But 3s is a little short for me ALICIAS DANCER came half a length behind last time they raced 17lbs heavier that day compaired to todays 3lb heavier so at 11s with a big weight swing ew bet for me another to watch in this race could be tipping over
Good luck in a race that any could win
