We saw last season quite a few times how dangerous we can be on the counter. We scored quite a few from counter attacks late on last season, and with all the pace we have now, we should be developing our counter attacking capabilities.

There's no where in the side that we don't have pace now really -

    Strikers -

Remy - Immense pace, great over long and short distances.

Gouff - Can play as a support striker, and has shown the ability to make great runs in support and through a defence.

Cisse - Not as quick as the others, but has good pace still.

    On the wings -

Ben Arfa - His off the ball pace isn't as good as the likes of Remy and Gouff, but he's probably our quickest player on the ball.

Gouff - Can play as a winger, and has pace.

Santon - Great pace and good attacking ability.

Debuchy - Not too quick, but he can play a part in a pacey counter attack and can get into some good positions and whip a good ball in.

    Down the middle -

Sissoko - Great pace for a man that stands 6ft 3 and is built like a tank.

Anita - Very nippy and puts himself about.

Cabaye/Tiote - Not particularly quick, but they both have a decent set of legs on them. They could play a part in a counter attack.

We do have Mbiwa who is also very quick for a CB.

We could develop a good style here. Lets hope Pards doesn't make us play long balls again.

not sure it would work, barely any defence seems to bring a high line against us anymore as they already know that cisse can finish much easier when someone like ben arfa breaks through and pulls back. Also, considering last year the plan SEEMED to be about retaining the ball for long periods of time, I imagine we're going to continue going down the route of hoofball tactics masquerading as possession-based football

Classing fullbacks as wingers does not mean we have attacking pace. Counter attack is our best option because Pardew doesn't have the acumen to take the game to the opposition.
