Personally I wouldn't mind another striker, maybe Gedo and then we will have plenty of decent options in every area.
You never know we might find we have a few quid left and go for Bent or Rhodes. Bruce's comments could be a smoke screen?
Midfield wise we now have Huddlestone, Livermore, Meyler, Quinn and Koren. I'd say that's probably enough. If we got a 6th midfielder you'd have to assume that either the new lad or Koren won't get much game time.
I'd have maybe one more attacking midfielder in. If not, then I'm perfectly happy with this one until January.
I have a feeling that he'd be happier with one more striker and particularly one with a history of regularly hitting the net.
The Norwich game will be key. It's unlikely that the Chelsea or Man City games will result in any points for us, but if we don't get at least a point with Norwich, and we are on nil points going into the last day of the transfer window, then that may just force another gamble in the market.
I wouldn't mind another wide player. I know Boyd, Koren and Aluko can play wide, but they're more central players.
We can play Elmo there. If we do go with the 4-3-3 formation, I'd rather have Elmo on the wing and Rosie at RB, because Elmo is a brilliant wing-back, but not comfortable with him as a full-back
I think the Striker is Gedo - and it's dependant on Fitness. Given the situation in Egypt, Al Ahli won't be playing anytime soon, Gedo's been with us all summer, and then we got the cryptic message from Gedo on twitter about having three weeks to get fit.
Gedo makes a lot of sense. He's already with us. He's getting back to full fitness. He looked a real goal threat before his injury and scored some key goals. He likes it here...he's young, talented, lots of potential. Would come cheap. And the Egyptian season won't happen while they fight a civil war.
He said he'd like one more, but it could be anywhere. The old striker theory rears it's head once more. I agree with the sentiment about waiting until the end of the window and I think what we have now is more than capable of carrying us through the first handful of games. If we can have 4 points from those I'll be surprised but happy. I'd take 1 point to be honest. If I was being greedy, I'd want a right sided player to come in, as we only have Rosenior and Elmo as natural right sided player and if one picks up an injury, we'll be a bit light. We have Townsend, but he's more left sided.
I wouldnt be surprised if we had a last minute dabble on a another striker on deadline day, somebody like Rodellega. Im not saying I want him, but I can imagine something like this.
