Why don't we adopt a similar anti name change campaign? Our first ever kit was white. So, we could have a fan produced White top with the campaign: We'll wear white until they stop this name change ****e?
Scarves would be a cheaper option - and more noticeable. We'd have to avoid copyright issues so it may be possible to say something like "Forever AFC" but what about the colours?
The poor old saddos. They had the chance to support Manchester FC but couldn't break away from success.
Surely the fact that this is all about having the Tigers as a nickname rather than an actual name would see us wearing black and amber, not white? Not everybody is aware of our history and they wouldn't get the colour change. Worse, they might see us as sympathising with FC.
It highlights in the stadium the proportion of people unhappy with the name change proposals, which based on responses is quite a few. White is a very distinguishable colour. If you have a stadium filled with a majority of fans in White, it's a visible gauge for how many are against it. Rather than rubbish the idea, why don't you put forward a better one?
Not really, how many people knew Man U played in Green and Gold? White is our first ever kit from 1904, so ties in nicely with the AFC creation.
Meant 'FC United of Manchester'. An even bigger mouthful. Suppose our splinter team would be 'AFC City of Hull'
Except Man Utd nevef played in green and gold. Newton Heath did, along with a variety of other kits. The kit changed to red and white the year the name was changed to Manchester United. And we may have had a black and white kit in 1904 but wore black and amber when we joined the football league. Having said that, few clubs play in the colours they first started with.
No, you were the one who dreamed this thread up. I'm afraid you've won the price today. Hull City Snow Tigers Forever. UTST (Up The Snow Tigers)
Come up with a better idea then. Snow Tigers? Are you not familiar with our history? Perhaps familiarise yourself with the link above.
Yes, but Newton Heath morphed into Man Utd, so the history is relevant. Man U even used Green and Gold in one of their alternative choice kits. Late 90s from memory.
