Ian Taylor just tweeted: @IJTaylor81: CONFIRMED: @eGranero11 has joined @RealSociedad on loan for the duration of the 2013/14 season #QPR
Loan on,y, after we were told there would be no more loans out. No doubt cesar will be another loan too with the idiots in charge.
No one is going to buy them and they are now off the wages. People saying the same things, same quotes after every announcement BORING!!!!
Spot on. Not only does it take away the salary burden (even if not 100%) but it also removes players who do not want to play for us. I hope Granero has a blinding season for Real Sociedad so we can recoup what we paid for him.
But now now player is ever going to leave knowing full well we will continue to pay the remainder of their wages. That is why you let a player rot and ruin their career and not give in to them, every player now will continue to screw us over. Look for Cesar to go on loan and us pay him 40k a week not to play for us.
I wish he'd have been given this season to show us what he's made of in a better team (unity wise). I think Mediterranean players need some time to adjust and there were glimpses of quality.
I would love to have your insider knowledge on the financial affairs of our club, how do you know what his wages are, who is now paying them. The useless ponce is someone elses problem, rot in the reserves ruin their career, there is some tosh posted on here
If reports are to be believed between 7-9 million! He seems too lightweight and I really cannot remember a game where he showed intent/passion that even Townsend displayed last year; and he was on loan. I agree about the loaning out of players to a degree; it is hard to swallow the fact that we will be picking up some of their salary but I'm guessing that if he has a blinding season then we can end his contract as we would have a buyer. Silly contracts/salaries appear to be rearing their ugly heads just over a year after the ink has dried.
He is out of it even if we are paying him 25k a week still it is better than 50k a week for doing nothing.
I did say if report's are to be believed. I'm not moaning; just saying it is hard to swallow the fact that such a marquee signing has not worked out. We all speculate and make judgements on what we read/hear. Makes it all the more exciting; no? Without the lows how would we feel the highs? We move on; tomorrow's another day.
I never got the impression that Granero was a shirker, bad team member, or mercenary. Actually seemed like a decent bloke and quite interesting for a footballer. He just never fitted in our team or in English football. He will thrive in a different setting. Failed experiment, really can't understand the malice towards him. He and his agent negotiated a deal to come to QPR, if that has worked out as bad value it's the clubs fault for agreeing to it as much as his.
Its obvious we are still paying wages because its only a loan, he'd have been let go permanently if they would have match his wages. This is a reason why you don't over pay for players because you can never get rid of them,
