Bent having Fulham medical

Aston Villa forward Darren Bent is having a medical at Fulham, according to Sky sources.

The 29-year-old was reportedly the subject of a £4m bid from the Cottagers in July, which was rejected by Villa, but they are believed to have made an improved offer of around £5m.

Bent was a peripheral figure for Aston Villa last season, often left on the sidelines with Christian Benteke making his mark on Paul Lambert's side.

And with new attacking options now available to Lambert, it would seem the club has opted to finally offload the striker they bought in January 2011 for around £24 from Sunderland.

It will also be great news for Fulham boss Martin Jol who has been desperate to land a goal scorer to take some of the pressure off last season's leading man Dimitar Berbatov.

Even if he does he is finished now anyway and he holds no fear for me. Berbatov is still the man up front for them to watch and the constant hostility from the crowd will put paid to any Judas contribution. He is just a soft cock who crys like a bairn when people say nasty things about him?

 

Wonder if he's going to Fulham for "footballing reasons"

 

Berbatov & Ruiz are deadly if they are up for it, that left winger they have too looked very dangerous at the SOL last season the one that Gardner sythed down for the penalty.

Paul Lambert has confirmed the Darren Bent deal is a loan deal and he is having a medical today at ‪#‎ffc‬ ‪#‎avfc‬

 

Don't care where he goes as long as it isn't back to SoL. We got rid at just the right time.

 

Lets hope they get him so we can all give him some much needed stick in a couple of days eh lads
