It wasn't that long ago when we went through a phase of immediately singing after the opposition scored. Would stop the away fans from signing " Your not singing anymore " We need to get back to doing this.
It will come in time. It was the first week for me on the drums and I was shocked when they scored. It will become less of a pause over time.
I dont know how some young upstarts can even think about interfering with tradition. When I had enough mental faculties to actually attend the graveyard -sorry Vicarage Road it was looked on, particularly by us who had a distance to travel, as a good opportunity for a nap. Not unusual to leave the ground not even knowing the result. Will admit to indulging in one brief round of applause at one game-but disapproving glares meant hands back in pockets. Can I suggest that those needing a bit of noise on a Sat pm organise Karaoke sessions at the local HMV store (if you have one).
I agree with Nick. How am I supposed to enjoy the tea from my flask and cheese sandwiches while people keep jumping up and down from their seats, and making all that dreadful noise Shame on you all
Piece of last years bread with nuffink in it was best we could do so soon after 2nd World War...and seats/toilets in the ground hadnt been invented...perhaps you now realise how spoilt you really are Kev.
The only thing that annoys me about singing/chanting is it tends to drown out my booing of our own players when they make a mistake.
Harry - welcome to my world. When I was much younger I used to love shouting and singing but when I go these days (not very often but some news this morning may alter that some time soon I'm happy to be much quieter. As you rightly say it doesn't mean you're at all apathetic.
I'm loud I'm proud, I'm 47 but don't go often as its 530miles to the temple of gold.... but when I do go yes the next day I always suffer from voice loss, I was one of the noisy bang the roof and sing at wemberllllly hopefully this year not necessary.
What did the proton say to the ever-grumpy electron? “Why do you have to be so negative all the time?”
remember us making some noise in the rookery when we were sprogs section next to away fans lol . started at back of Rookery and after watford scored ended up near the front ! Miss the days of terracing.
Thinking about it to the same rythm as the old EJTMA we could now have "Gian Fran Cos Golden Army"....... "Geeeeee Annnnn Frannn Kooo s Golden Army"
Relocated out of that section but wish them all well. Last week didn't really notice a difference. Seemed to hear he middle Rookery more than the sw section. Interested to see if this makes a difference at away games, so Reading will be interesting
