Gameiro or Gervinho - Official poll

If you had to choose one right now, which one would you take?

We can still sign more players, but if you had to choose between these two players, which would you take?

 

Gameiro, we need a goalscorer, but if he doesn't want to come then obviously not him!

But with all other things being equal... Gameiro.

Yeah but guys we can still sign more players after this choice though, i'm not saying this is our only signing of the season and no more strikers or signings afterwards.

Just looking at the player, forgeting whether he wants to join or not Gameiro.
But that said if we can only get one i'd take Gervinho and then sign Sigthorsson

 

For the record, Gervinho. He is still a striker and appears to want the move more than Gameiro. Also he's mates with Tiote and Cabaye, whereas Gameiro probably doesnt know either.

I would say Gameiro since this kid looks like he is a goal scorer, which if we had last season we maybe could have got into europe...

A natural finisher will give confidence to the rest of the team like Barton, that if they put the ball in the right areas we will score.. However at the moment it is more hope that Ameobi can stick one of his bambo like legs out, if he cba!

Gervinho may be exciting, however I feel like he maybe hit and miss

 

I'd personally rather sign Gervinho. It's a no brainer and i think the Gameiro votes are from people that think we're so desperate for a striker we should sign Gameiro, and ignored the fact that we can still sign strikers afterwards.

Gameiro is also very unphysical. He's only 5ft 7 and doesn't look very strong, Gervinho is a good height, good physical frame and very fast and skillful.

Gervinho all day for me.

For once I actually agree with you. Plus it seems Gervinho actually wants to play here.

 

Not as good as him though

To be honest, Gameiro looks like a great finisher, but his lack of physical ability makes me think he'll be eaten up easily in the PL, where as Gervinho looks strong and aggressive enough to make it in the PL.

 

Ameobi is strong, doesn't make him a good player, we need a goalscorer ASAP so would make that my top priority i.e signing Gameiro first, Hernandez doesn't exactly have a strong, physical presence and look how well he has done...

 

completely agree, im very excited over this. I reckon Gervinho could easily hold his own against the top defences in the league. im really really hoping this doesnt turn to dust and we dont get him. he could be a fantastic addition. we could play him as support striker with ben arfa and jonas either side, with cabaye and tiote in midfield, we know tiote will be suspended a good bit so nolan can fill in. we cant play all our players all the time, they have to understand that. thats not how teams win trophies. if the players are happy to sit out a few games here and there then there should be no problem with us doing a very decent league run and a possible.....possible fa cup!? who knows. maybe my heads in the clouds with all the excitement but let me dream. its the happiest ive been as a toon supporter for a while now!

Gervinho for me. More chance of being able to be up to the physical side of the EPL.

 

I never said being strong means you'd be a good player in the PL, i said the lack of physicality in Gameiro may stop him from being effective in the PL. I may be wrong, but the impression i've got from watching both these players is that Gervinho is quick, skillfull, strong, aggressive and can assist and score well, Gameiro looks classy but from what i've seen it makes me worried that he may find the PL too much for him.

I'd like to sign them both but gervinho looks like the better catch to me.
