Just watched Kadeem Harris on CCP in that friendly against Newport earlier this week. Bloody hell - has that boy improved since last season's dev squad games!

8 goals already is not to be sniffed at even in friendlies - his control has improved out of all proportion and he has pace to burn.

He looks so sharp and quick, he could be a nightmare for any defender. I realise it was "only Newport", but that lad could be an unexpected star this season by just coming off the bench for the last half hour.

I hope we keep him at the club rather than loaning him out - he will get far better being around this squad we have now than playing League One stuff on loan.

I raised this question in a thread the other day. How much more can he do?

If his form isn't enough to get a chance in the first team squad then disband the dev team/squad now because it's pointless. He looks a star and deserves a chance I'm guessing he'll start in the league cup, just hope we pick a strong enough team to give him a chance to shine.

After the Hereford game Malky was quoted as saying "still has a lot to learn", of course this was WOL but is there something we're not aware of regarding the lad?

With 7 subs you can afford a wild card on the bench.

Good to hear you see an improvement Sparkey. Saw him at Cheltenham last pre-season. He obviously has skill and pace but didn't seem to be able to put it all together and was let down with a final ball. Maybe some of his potential is being realised.

Play him in the cup and keep him on the fringes. might be useful for the odd 10 minute cameo.

Premier League is a long way away from playing Newport as Sparkey said. I think I will have some faith in management on this one.

Signed in to comment on this- very relevant!!

Went to watch Hereford v Cardiff Dev, said to my mate ; that little black kid Harris is going to tear your team a new one.

Needless to say he scored and got man of the match.
He terrorised the team with skill, pace, intelligence and direct play.
Looked even more of a threat than Conway or Maynard.

Have been very impressed (opponents permitting) and hope he gets some game time.

As you say Uni, Conway didn't cause those problems and he's on the edge of our first team squad.

I really hope he's given some sort of chance to show if he's good enough to have a future with us.

If Montero comes in, I can see Harris being loaned out. Another option would be for Conway to be moved on.

If Ralls needed to be farmed out to play regularly, you could say the same for Harris. Looks like the Prem has come too early for them both.

You boys have hit it on the head. Get Harris out to a league 1 side until Christmas, then maybe a Championship outfit after Christmas depending on his development.

As I said, he looked like a mini Ronaldo- BUT that was against a very poor Hereford side- but then again, he was better than the prem boys.

Just my 2 cents - I wouldn't mind him back from loan after Christmas..... It all depends.
