How do you work out that season ticket sales, merchandising, food/drink sales etc is 0.2%, I would be interested to see a breakdown of the 99.8% of income.

Hence my comment on your lack of a football soul. Your loss.

I thought that, but apparently it's a new name for the old company, so all debts etc continue.

For better or for worse, football needs ever-growing revenue streams to finance the mounting costs. This is why the football club has to be run as a business. This is why the club has been granted a budget. That budget will have been determined by the costs of running the business vs. the predicted income streams vs. the financial risks/gains involved with our Premier League status at the end of this season.

Businesses that don't change, stagnate and then die.

The fact is that there is an £11M deficit to close. Many think the re-branding will not solve this. The owner thinks its worth a shot. if he does nothing, he will have to finance the deficit. Probably by having to sell Aluko, Chester, Brady to the highest bidders. So, worth a punt or not?

The rebranding isn't to close the £11mill deficit.

All i will add iis n 48 years of supporting Hull City
In all 4 divisions...Since the Allams took over things have never been better .

    Best squad ever.
    Best manager ever.
    Best owners ever..

(though old man needler was a good owner also )

I do miss standing in the kempton at BP though.

Ffs there was a time when anyone buying a season pass risked been stuck in the nut house.

    We are yorkshire number 1

Amazing really when not so long ago we was the worst team in yorkshire

I really dont see any negatives

    Peace

    Im off to bed

What people seem to forget is that football is nothing like most consumer products. The fan's relationship to a club is generally completely different to a consumer's relationship to a product. Do you buy a particular brand of bread just because you were born near the factory of that company? No you buy the brand which you feel is the best tasting/wins most awards etc and if that was the case in football we would all support Manchester United. When buying a product we look at the cheapest options to provide the most benefits. You don't just switch clubs because West Ham have reduced their season ticket prices.

Because of these irregularities business logic can't be directly applied to the world football, you need to think of it as a completely separate market with different processes for things like branding. People say Allam knows more about business than any of us, but how much does he really know about the business of football?

They say football is a religion, and these arguments prove this.

The AFCs obviously think the rest of us are taking our 30 pieces of silver.

In reality, today's announcements got everyone on both sides frothing at the mouth. That is what supporting a team is all about. Waiting season after season for that perfect storm where you achieve the success you've craved.

So can we just get on with it now please?

Who elses opinion would it be?

Do you think the rebranding IS to cover the £11million?

We're in deep **** if it is.

No I think there is a deficit of £11M, and the re-branding is one attempt to do something about this. Let's hope there are other irons in the fire.

The Allams have no idea how to run a football club.

More than you. Considering they've gathered a management team that has seen us see premier league status.
