    The stadium absolutely exploded not just in celebration but everybody seemed to share his delight around where I was!!! Either there were thousands of saints fans or everyone loves lambert and his story!

    I watched Paine score for England; Saint Michael numerous times; KK scored as a Saint. But I have never been so blown away as tonight. Sometimes a player comes along that you not just admire but love for his sheer commitment to the SFC cause. Rickie is right up there, and his post match comments were tear jerking.

    Never been more proud to be a Saint. Brilliant, Rickie.

    I think Rickie is loved...everyone who knows him wishes him well. Chap on Sky said a couple of days ago that everyone in football has time for Rickie Lambert. We may admire other players but we feel distant from them...Rickie is that man in the pub, the guy next door. We share in his joy.

    If that was really his first touch, is Lambert the only player ever to have scored on his first touch in both his Premier League and International debut? Would have to think so.
