I don't see Jenas wanting to be a back up for anyone, that not why he left spurs. He can join Hull + play PL football. His and Faurlin's style are pretty dissimilar in my opinion too- Jenas is more in the Parker/Barton mould. Supposedly this guy has left now as well: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...anero-drops-wages-for-Real-Sociedad-loan-deal Presumably Mbia won't be far behind!
Insane, we give Derry another year, then loan him out a week into the season, his replacement is no better and is already under threat two weeks into the season. This club is a joke. There was no need to give Derry (and hill) another year, certainly no need for henry and now were spending another 70k a week on some else. So thats way over 100k a week for one spot and the player isn't even that good.
As ever it is not quite that cut and dried. Derry signed his extension in January when he was a fixture in the team that was keeping clean sheets and, I believe, Hill's was an option written into his contract if he played over 20(?) matches and he chose to exercise his right to another season. As for Henry, I just don't understand why we signed him. I doubt I ever will.
BBC are reprting Hull are set to sign Huddlestone and Livermore (loan) from Spurs. Probably rule out a move for Jenas.
They probably signed Henry in case Parker never got signed. Which raises more questions than answers. This could be seen as Barton potentially getting his move to Marseille? Would need a replacement on the right then.... Would be brilliant if we had got hold of Townsend. Hoillet and him on the wings and two of Faurlin, Parker and Barton keeping it steady in the middle. Still hope yet!!!!!
Or you could play Parker and Henry in the same central midfield, may well work for a cold raining Tuesday night at whatever venue oooop North. Don't get me wrong I haven't been impressed with Henry either but on paper, yes I know that doesn't win matches, I reckon that's what Harry is looking at?
With all your criticism and dislike, bordering on hatred, perhaps you should give yourself a break and support another club!!!
You might be happy enough to see the club go down the ****ter but Im not. We buy a load of past it players who are terrible and we struggle to shift them, TF says we leart from out mistakes....and he goes out and buys another load of past it players looking for one last pay day. Halft our squad is over 30, half our squad will have to be replaced within 2 years, this will happen constantly if we have 50% of our squad as OAPs. We will never go anywhere and will just haemorrhage money left right and centre.
All a bit melodramatic really. The Club will not suddenly implode because we've signed Dunne and O'Neill on 1 year contracts. I wonder if you were so critical of the average age of the Championship winning team which contained a number of veteran players. Yes, we're in a transitional phase but the histrionics are a bit unecessary.
The problem is, while fernandes said that it could be a good thing if we don't get promoted straight away, and we would take our time to build the right team, maybe the reality of the financial fair play rules, is we simply must get promoted this season. If we don't we are going to get hammered with a 10 million pound fine, plus a transfer embargo. That would hurt us bad. And the reality is we just aren't going to be able to comply with the FFP rules. So this might just be changing our strategy. Yes it would be great to build a young and eager team, maybe throw in a few kids from the youth set up and win it the good old fashion way, but there just isn't enough good young players who the big clubs haven't already picked up, so who would we buy? You can criticise Rednapp for buying ageing warhorses, but with them comes out best chance of success. They offer the best quality at an affordable price. As we saw with hooper, we just can't get in a pissing contest with any premier league club for younger talent, and younger talent certainly won't choose the championship over the premiership. So yes spending money on ageing players might not be ideal, but if we go up, the money will be irrelevant. But if we bought young players from the championship down, there's no guarantee that that would work out, look how many years Cardiff spent flirting with promotion before finally getting it right. We just can't afford to wait that long. Just remember if we don't go up, 10 million fine and transfer embargo. I believe the owners will spend hundreds of millions of their money to bring us success, but how long would they stay around while we are under an embargo? So for those moaning about who we are signing, who would you see us buy, who would come to us and bring us guaranteed success straight away?
