Apparently all that is left to do is to secure a work permit. Since he doesn't have any full international caps we have to go for the 'special talent' option. Whether it will be granted or not we have to see but he could be very exciting prospect if it is granted.
I hope so. The fact he's 22 means he'll be less disheartened about being on the bench behind Austin + Johnson than an "established" striker would. Might preserve the happy camp There's a good thread on him here: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/222631-Duvan-Zapata
I'm not sure how the special talent category works but looking at some of his goal on you tube he can score with both feet and his head... I think the thought of him and Austin will scare the living day lights out of defences...
Does "special talent" cover things like completing a Rubik cube in under 20 seconds or memorizing the order of 10 shuffled packs of cards?
Napoli set to hijack QPR move for striker By talkSPORT (@talkSPORT) | Wednesday, August 14, 2013 Napoli set to hijack QPR move for striker Napoli are preparing to hijack QPR's move for Colombian striker Duvan Zapata. The Loftus Road side recently had a £6m bid for the forward accepted by Estudiantes and he was expected in London for talks with the club earlier this week. West Ham tried to sign him earlier this summer but their move collapsed over doubts over his ability to secure a work permit - and QPR could face the same problem. That has encouraged new Napoli boss Rafa Benitez to step up his interest in the 22-year-old, and he is confident of luring the attacker to Serie A. How many more times are we going to set the price and let others come in and steal them from under our noses.
It says on his wikipedia page we've agreed a fee of £6.3 million!! What the bombeclut is ruddy going on?!?!
Bumbaclut is a rag to wipe ones soiled bum region, or a rag used as a rudementary sanitary towel or a word meaning blood clot. Hope this helps.
Has anyone got any ideas how long this work permit thing is likely to take, are we talking days, weeks or months...
SimonW@swill66qpr News that HR may have turned down Zapata. Was going to buy him on the back of videos, but after watching him in training does not rate him.
