Since England are playing Scotland to celebrate the FA's 150th anniversary, I thought I would ask, what are your favorite memories of the England football team?

Being born in 1995, my memories of England being great are very few and far between, being way too young for Euro 96 didn't help.

    Here's mine:

My dad took me to that game. Beckham probably had the best individual performance from a England player I have ever seen.

My favourite was getting tonked by Germany in the last World Cup.

Such great football they play, we should look to emulate it. I even went home and had a craft **** over it afterwards.

This. Pretty much all of Italia 90, in fact, especially everything Gazza did - but the Platt goal was the zenith.

    England v Scotland 1975

Awful Scottish keeper - hope it's not the same tonight if Rob Roy plays.

During my lifetime, I don't think there's been too many really incredible moments.

4-2 against Holland springs to mind. 2-0 against Scotland, 5-1 against Germany and the qualification in Rome.

The excitement for me was always the anticipation at a major tournament, especially piling into pub 3 hours before kick off, singing naff England songs, getting blathered and having a laugh.

After that would usually follow the usual bland, pedestrian international football where we'd scrape a 1-0 against a minor nation before eventually being knocked out by the first half decent side we play.

I don't see them matching our desperation for them to succeed any time soon, but major tournaments in the summer are always great fun. An opportunity to have fun, act tribal and drink plenty.

Until that gets ruined by Qatar...FFS.
