http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYGEaozvrPQ&noredirect=1 Sorry to post up an England goal, but has anyone seen Shelvey's goal tonight for England U21's. Awesome. It's just after 6 minutes if you don't want to watch it all. Also check out his assist for the first goal at the start. I must admit, when I first heard of the idea of signing him I thought WTF. But how wrong I think I am going to be. His range of passing is as good as I have seen for a long time following the Swans. I remember as a young lad being amazed at the ex-Liverpool player Ian Callaghan pinging balls about when he came down here in the Toschack era, and I think Shelvey can do the same thing. He offers something completely different to how we have played over the last few years. I think the variety of play is an essential element of us moving on as a team trying to consolidate ourselves in the Premier league. Here's to Jonjo becoming my new favourite player. I think we really missed him in the Malmo second leg. What do you guys think of him so far?
I agree. Added to Bony's aerial threat, we can possibly look forward to some cracking different types of goals this year.
Great stuff from Jonjo; Hodgson looked pleased so hopefully he'll keep him in mind for more full caps in the future. More to the point, it should give JJ the confidence to kick on with us. He's looking the part already.
Fair play that is spectacular. If he starts doing that in the league then he will turn into a super bargain
Well he's certainly going to give us a more direct way of scoring and something else for defenders to think about .He looks like he's full of confidence at the moment and a goal like that can only help him & us .
Fair play that was a cracking finish. In fact I've got a photo of me and my boy doing Shelvey's celebration on The Stealth at Thorpe Park. I have to download it, and will post this later this week.
Could he become our first English capped player? I rate him better than Cleverly....but Woy Hodgsdon ignores us at all costs.
Roy did have a big grin on his face when it went in. If he can get off to a flyer with us, the I don't see why he can't become a full England International.
Well he's still has a lot of time to get himself established and hopefully we can (or rather the manager ) can help him develop further.
