    Hello all.
Small comp for the comin season, you guess the final placing for all premier league teams. If you get a teams position correct you score 20pts and lose1pt for every position plus or minus your prediction. So if you call Newcastle to finish 7th and they do you get 20pts but if they finish 13th (6 places worse) then you score 14, equally if we somehow win the league then that's 6 places better and still 14pts.
400pts up for grabs and only prize is braggin rights.

Chelsea - Mourinho to do Pellegrini in two horse race
Man City - Slow start (please) but will come on like a train
Liverpool - Hate them but just reckon they'll really get it together this year, plus no Europe
Newcastle - Ask me tomorrow and I'll probably have us 15th, but there's always a surprise in the league and as I ma utterly, unashamedly biased I'll plump for this.
Man Utd - Fall from grace and difficulties under Moyes, underpinned by Rooney and a lack of real depth
Tottenham - Bale saga to drag on, don't really rate the huge money players they've bought, difficult season for Spurs
Swansea - More improvement because they've strengthened a talented side and kept Laudrup
Southampton - Same as Swansea and Pochettino looks alright
Everton - Difficult for Martinez as depth is lacking and with a few injuries a Martinez side won't have the steel to grind it out
Arsenal - The biggest fall from grace, shambles that they haven't strengthened. Relying hugely on Wilshere who's made of glass.
West Ham - An ok season, but Sham's one-dimensional play is often found out.
Aston Villa - Slight improvement, much like their signings, so safer than last year
West Brom - Punched above their weight last season.
Fulham - Tough season for Fulham who have a lot of adjusting to do and whose big players are knocking on a bit.
Cardiff - Few big signings pepper a largely average squad. Best chance of surviving of those who came up.
5under1and - Another difficult season trying to settled PDC and his Italian revolution down.
Norwich - Punched above weight, lightweight at the back and could get found out more this year.
Hull - Gutsy, but not enough; you cannot survive in the PL with the kind of budget Bruce has got.
Stoke - I detest Hughes. He's a hopeless manager and hasn't even been able to mess around with a chequebook. Down.
Crystal Palace - One man team last year, that man has gone and Dwight Gayle is easily the biggest risk of the Summer window. Epic fail.

    1. Man City- good squad, good manager
    2. Chelsea- Mourinho, enough said
    3. Man United- Solid start to his tenure
    4. Arsenal- perenial Champions League qualifiers, just
    5. Tottenham- Spurs, Gunners, LFC will all take points off each other, will stop them progressing further
    6. Liverpool- Mini-league see above
    7. Everton- Can't see Martinez doing better than Moyes, won't be bad though
    8. Swansea- More of what they have shown in the previous seasons, not got quite enough move to the 'next level'
    9. Newcastle- Some good players, a mess in the management of the club
    10. Southampton- Added quality where needed
    11. Sunderland- Added much needed quantity and the quality will catch a few off guard
    12. Fulham- Been sold to a Ron Jeremy lookalike, standard fair
    13. West Brom- Did well last season, hard to keep it going
    14. Norwich- Made some astute signings, probably should be higher up
    15. Aston Villa- They have Benteke, then they have...
    16. West Ham- Will probably do better, typical Allardyce security
    17. Stoke- Despite Hughes, they have enough to keep up
    18. Hull- Bruce needs to build up the squad a bit more, will do ok at home, deserve to go down because of their owner changing their name
    19. Cardiff- Straight up straight down, (queue inevitable comparison) don't have the guile of Swansea when promoted, deserve to go down because their owner changed their traditional colours
    20. Crystal Palace- Holloway will be the most entertainment they serve up, OAP Phillips to bag a couple

The bottom half is harder than the top.

Arsenal -Why not. **** it, they are well overdue and are the only ones not have summer upheaval. If they can add Suarez (or similar) plus another couple they could be the one.
Man City - Good manager, good team I expect they'll be there or thereabouts
Chelsea - Jose will expect but I'm not convinced he will deliver in his first season
Man Utd - 4th would be a bit of disaster for them but I just think the first season after SAF has to be tricky
Spurs - Very strong squad. Difficult to match the top 4 but they have quality throughout. I was torn between them and Man U for 4th.
Liverpool - I like Coutinho. The Suarez scenario is a real unknown impact but I think he'll go eventually and they'll spend off the back of it. I'm just not sure they can get the quality to jump higher. Force him to stay and get him back on board they could be dangerous.
Everton - Good solid squad but obviously a new manager with a bit of change. All depends how they adapt. I can see a very strong start followed by injuries and a bit of tailing off.
Aston Villa - Sounds ridiculous but I think that batch of young players may improve. I think Lambert is a shrewdy cookie.
West Ham - Horrible manager but I think they'll be effective. I've put them in 9th on the proviso they strengthen their front line.
Newcastle - Hopeful more than confident. I just hope we strengthen our attacking options further.
Sunderland - I think they'll have a solid season. Good home team. It has the potential to go badly wrong. They are a collection of multi nationals under a very temperamental manager. They lack PL experience and the players don't know each others game. I just don't think it will.
Southampton - I think they'll have a solid season. If they spend a bit and get two or three in, I could easily see them leapfrogging up to 9th.
Fulham - Jol does a decent job with what's he's got. Made some shrewd free transfers but they haven't strengthened massively. Wish we'd break the bank for Frei now. I think this lad will set the PL alight this season if given his wings.
Cardiff - I like Malky Mackay. I think they'll be the one promoted club to surprise. I think they have added some real quality. Particularly Medel. Absolute terrier.
Swansea - I like what Laurdrup does but I can just see the Europa crippling their season unless they exit early.
Norwich - They have signed some good players but I think they are two or three big injuries away from some lean spells. Quality in the squad but not qunatity to deal with a PL season.
Stoke - Hard to predict but I think it'll be them or West Brom to go down.
West Brom - I know they did well last season, but without Lukaku I think they are a different team. He is an immense talent. He allowed others to play. Without some serious transfer work I'm not convinced.
Hull - Bruce does a decent job but I can see a difficult season. Just quality being the problem.
Crystal Palace - Love the manager, the way he plays the game and his attitude in general. Big ask for them though.

Difficult to say before the window shuts... as it stands:

    1) Chelsea
    2) Man City
    3) United
    4) Arsenal - Very close between arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool
    5) Spurs
    6) Liverpool
    7) Swansea - Miles off 6th
    8) Southampton - if they can keep up their impressive start when Pochettino joined
    9) West Ham
    10) Everton
    11) Newcastle - despite a poor manager and DoF your team is still pretty good
    12) Sunderland - would take this and another Mauling of the mags ;)
    13) WBA - Lukaku out, a washed up Anelka in, that'll be the main difference imo
    14) Villa
    15) Fulham
    16) Norwich
    17) Cardiff
    18) Stoke - could end up mid table for all I know, going off last season and their lack of activity in the window
    19) Hull
    20) Palace

The general consensus was that we would be mid table with the Mackems... Lol.
