I remember when Gerard Houllier bought Bruno Cheyrou he compared him with Zinedine Zidane, the only flash of him I saw was at Stamford Bridge when we won by one odd goal he scored. Zinedine Zidane indeed.
Would say harsh on Downing, Heskey and pegguy as he was a reserve keeper and never really played but picked up 6 medals though. Some others I would throw in Nunez, Vornin, Josemi and Le Tallec.
Don't think Heskey belongs on the list, he was never played to his strengths. So often played wide left and doing as much defensive work as attacking. replace him with Joe Cole, he was gash when he did play.
What about Jimmy Carter, David Speedie, Sean Dundee, Paul Stewart, Jan Kromkamp and Djimi Traoré to name but a few.

Bit harsh on Downing there IMO No way Westerveld should be in there either IMO, he was better than Jones! I guess it what you define the worst being. You could say someone like Diouf because he was a ****, someone like Poulsen because he was **** or Doni because he never played.
****in' Sean Dundee - claimed to be quicker than Michael Owen when he came to the club. Only way he was quicker than Owen was to have a physio table on permanent reserve... I've seen Supertankers turning and accellerating quicker than 'Crocodile' Catagorically the worst player ever to come to the club - not even a freebee either...

Poulsen was slow, useless, past it and a total waste Pichnik was bambi on ice and awful.... keeps traore out he was that bad. Kozma socred a hatrick in a cup game once anyone rememebr that... dunee was a class singined downing is a wife beater Stewart was so fat he looked stupid and never played without pulling a hammy Meijer never got a sniff, got the wunter under meijer column called after him on 606... got me banned several times. Koncheskey is a coward. arphexaud knew were houlliler buried the bodies. how could anyone give him a contract. hired paul jones for one game rather than play him right?
it was knocked up pretty quick but I still wouldn't put Carroll in there as I think he's a pretty good player, I agree with Sisu though I should have included Joe Cole, and maybe remove Heskey who at times played well.
