Right guys, forgive me for not being arsed enough to use Google for this but does anyone remember the amount of overseas players we're allowed, including loans under 21's etc etc ? Am I right by assuming that we are only allowed 6 over-seas players in each named match squad ? If so, then won't we have to keep some of the likes of Colback, Gardener, Catts, Vaughan, Wickham (not including O'Shea as he's a deffo starter) unless we are still going for Rose and/or Parker ? I've been so wrapped up in all this transfer frenzy that I've lost track of the governing guide lines. Any knowledge out there please ?
As many as we want as long as we meet the criteria. we could have a 100 ba's because he doesn't need to be registered. over 21 then it's limited to the 25 man squad. as long as we have at least 6 or 8(?) homegrown players(doesn't have to be british) we could put 25 overseas players in the squad, but for every time the under 21 criteria isn't met one place from the squad is removed, so in theory a 25 man squad can become a 19 man squad. Think that's right?
here's a quick google result. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/fans/faqs/home-grown-player-rule/ here's how we fare. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/clubs/profile.squads.html/sunderland only Colback is a product of our academy. there's no accounting for some peoples laziness especially on the internet.
