Chelsea v Hull City (4pm) Referee: Jonathan Moss Assistants: S Burt, L Betts Fourth Official: A Marriner Source: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...atch-officials-appointments-17-21-august.html
Moss is a alright ref. He reffed our 1-0 away at Sheff Wed last season. I think he was the ref at Blackpool game when Folan got knocked out...
Let' face it, irrispective of who refs it it is still "Plucky Cannon Fodder City" v "Mourinio's Classy Prem Favourites Chelsea" and the decisions will go that way..welcome to the Prem boys....remember some of those cracking decisions last time round???.....prepare for the following phrase "Unlucky Tigers" when pundits discuss our games......still bring it on....CTID
It was no better in the Championship though. Nothing to do with being a small club really. Refs are just ****.
PLT is right though. The quality of refs this season will be significantly greater than in the Championship.
From watching live Championship games and PL games on TV the last few years I've got the impression that PL refs seem to be more happy to make a 'big' decision that fans might not like. There seem to be red cards for every debatable tackle or high foot in the PL whereas in the Championship it's never a penalty or a red card as we saw last season. Championship refs seem to want to be really, really sure before they make a big decision. Every so often you get a penalty given for over-zealous marking at a set-piece, but never in the Championship.
True but refs don't help themselves. In some sports cheating isn't allowed so it doesn't happen. In football it's promoted.
When it comes to the PL refs then Yes you are correct on this one,. I dont think we shall have to worry about a dodgy ref this time. We had that last time with Alan Wiley when we lost 2-1 in august 2010.
