I know it's been out a while, but I'm currently playing through it again. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a first person shooter more (sorry Goldeneye/Perfect Dark). It just never ends and the random weapons generator is ingenious.

Some of the quotes from the enemies are ****ing gold. Especially the ones from the Torgue DLC.

"I am the last Claptrap in existence and I AM GOING TO TEABAG YOUR CORPSE!"

"I'm going to wear your face like a condom!"

    "I wanna kick your babies!"

"I like my meat like I like my coffee... in the butt!"

"ALOT OF PEOPLE BEEN ASKING ME WHY MY VOICE BEEPS ALL THE F*CKIN TIME. THE TORGUE SHAREHOLDERS WIRED MY VOICEBOX WITH A DIGITAL CENSOR SO I CAN'T SAY STUFF LIKE SH*T, C*CK, OR P*SSY F*CKIN' D*CKBALLS! THATS HALF MY F*CKIN' VOCABULARY, IT'S GODDAMN BULLSH*T!"

"BIG DEAL. I CAN USE INNUENDO TOO. TONIGHT'S FIGHT IS BETWEEN FLYBOY AND THE VAULT HUNTER...BLOWJOBS!"

"BY REGISTERING IN THE BADASS TOURNAMENT, YOU LEGALLY FORFEIT YOUR RIGHT TO CRY, EAT TOFU, OR WATCH MOVIES WHERE PEOPLE, KISS IN THE RAIN AND SH*T."

**** all the other games, you just need this one. Anybody else playing it/played through it/as big a fan as I am?

007 Goldeneye for the N64 is the greatest shooter and will never be bettered.

Borderland is a great game, I keep picking it up, then forgetting it for a couple of months, then playing it again.

It's been bettered many, many times my friend. Goldeneye was good at the time and it's multiplayer value is brilliant today, but Perfect Dark outdid it in every way (as it should've; it was seen as it's 'sequel'). The best multiplayer first person shooter for me was the Timesplitters franchise.

The thing with playing Goldeneye nowadays is that it's just too easy. Even on 00 Agent it was a piece of piss. It's nice for nostalgic purposes, but by today's standards it's pretty dated. And this is from somebody who really, really enjoyed it.

The best online multiplayer shooter was/is Call of Duty 4.

    Blasphemy.

It is the best in my eyes. End of.

Best online multiplayer, I hate to say, was probably CoD 4. I hate that game series as well.

I never really played the CoD games after they went online. I had the first 3, but I preferred the ones set during the World Wars. Online I played Starcraft and Command and Conquer (Red Alert series). The new Farcry series has a pretty badass multiplayer.

And everybody says it's blasphemy, but it's just limited now. Even the multiplayer got predictable. It got to the point where I could predict where the players were going to respawn and was there waiting for them, RCP90 in hand. Sometimes I didn't even have to open the door. They released an updated Perfect Dark with better graphics for Xbox 360; did they ever do one for Goldeneye? I had the one for the Wii, which they replaced Brosnan with Craig (not a bad game actually, but a bit to different to be called a remake).

Just because they didn't remake it like Perfect Dark doesn't make it isn't any good anymore ffs.

Virtually every shooter now is predictable as well. Play CoD and you'll find out.

I think it was more of a question, asking if there was a remake. Not stating that the remake made it better.

The Doom series is great as well.

Also, since I've mentioned Doom, might as well mention Castle Wolfenstein...

    Half Life ain't bad either...

How about 3rd person shooters? What are your faves?

Mine is Star Wars Battlefront (1 or 2, both are great)

No, I wasn't trying to make a point, I was genuinely asking <laugh> Did they do a remake of it, if so, I'd like to download it.

The smarter ones like Borderlands and Farcry aren't predictable, the enemies are adaptable and smart. Sometimes too smart. *lowers difficulty*

All awesome, Battlefront 2 was quality. Just bought the updated one for PC. Did I imagine a level with Darth Maul or does that come later? I've just done the Darth Vader.

Fair enough - no they haven't remade it. Sadly they probably never will. Not 'properly' anyways.

There is a level where you can just play as the 'special' characters, he might be on that.

I'm so glad they are making a third Battlefront. Sadly it will probably for next gen, and I'm not buying one of them for a while. Might have to get the PC version.

Going back to FPS, what about Medal Of Honor? The early ones were brilliant, especially Allied Assault.

Also, going back to CoD, I didn't really like any of the games set after WW2 apart from the first Modern Warfare. The first two CoDs are still the best ones imo.

PC is the way forward. I'm not fussed about the next gen consoles. Have you played the new Bioshock? It's pretty good.

Can't believe I forgot Fallout. If the world was ever to end, I hope we resort to living like that. S.T.A.L.K.E.R was also a great series, shame it was riddled with glitches. Think the last one was the game of the year in whichever year it was released.

The first Prototype is loads of fun, haven't played the second one though, anybody know if it's any good?

The only post WW2 war game I enjoyed was Cannon Fodder. So much win.

I'm currently playing through Metro: Last light. Really enjoying it so far, it's quite an old school feeling shooter with some real tension and creepy moments.

Best online shooter i've played is either Modern warfare 2 of Black ops 2. Bit sick of the COD format now though, tried Battlefield 3 and couldn't get into it. Eager to see if COD Ghosts will add anything new to the series, it's multiplayer is revealed on Wednesday.
