The big kick-off for Saints U21s today, as they travel up to Liverpool. After an impressive, unbeaten pre-season, they are confident going into the newly restructured U21 Premier League. From the OS: In terms of the Saints side, there is barely any chance for senior players to get a run out, but injuries and international call-ups have already hit the side. Sam McQueen & Andy Robinson are out with long-term injuries, whilst Joe Curtis & Dom Gape miss out injured. Chris Johns (N. Ireland) and Matt Targett (Scotland) are away with their respective age groups. Jason McCarthy, Ryan Seagar and Jake Flannigan have been promoted from the U18s this year, and a huge growth in numbers for the Under-21s this year, as they look to improve on an impressive campaign last time out. Defenders Jack Stephens & Jordan Turnbull will want to push on, following their time spent with the first team this year, whilst Matt Targett will be looking to continue his rapid rise through the ranks. Omar Rowe will also be one to watch, after an impressive pre-season left many in no doubt of his potential on the wing. Possible Team: Cropper; Young, Stephens, Turnbull, Colmer; Rowe, Reed, Moore, Flannigan; Seagar, Sinclair. The match is also live on Liverpool TV for free at 1:45, sky channel 429, virgin media 544. I expect there is a stream somewhere as well.

Liverpool score from a very poor pass from jack stephens. Stephens did the same misplced backpass last game, also gave away a penalty after letting a player cut inside too easily. Looks very complacent and a poor defender from the little I have seen of him
1-1 rowe scores after seagar pounces on a poor back pass and had his shot well saved. Rowe scored well from the rebound
Who is this Jack Seager?, Ryan's twin brother?.... Saints looking really lively.....great save from Britt
stephens plays an incredible pass to sinclair who was clean through, cut back on his right and finished well
Classic Scouse humour. Southampton have bought on lots of good young players over the last few years, shaw, Walcot, Oxlade and lets not forget Englands new striker Lambert
U21s looking a mirror image of the first team....lively going forward but not entirely secure at the back.
