Thanks for the information dick. Without wishing to stifle debate on here, if you feel that a reply to this thread is necessary, could we please keep comments civilised. Thanks, Tewkes
Why is it that Ricky always wants to throw an elephant into the room? So now the Greenwich want to build social housing on The Valley? My guess is that IF a 40,000 stadium is built on the Peninsula http://greenwichrising.com/2961/gre...ula-eltham-charlton-and-woolwich-masterplans/ then the Council will want us to move in and then they would build housing on the Valley site....... it's not rocket science! Why can't Ricky just support the Club rather than just try to cause trouble all the time?
I have not read the report nor the Voice of the Everett but I would bet my entire collection of Felicity Kendall DvDs that it is a pile of horse manure and scaremongering by a very sad, bitter and very lopsided individual. Hs anyone thought behind Ricks motivation or questioned the result of his dismissal from cafc? Have we ever found out why he was sacked from cafc? Was it for leaking reports that were irrelevant and making all sort of untrue and wildly inaccurate insinuations about his employers who like me found him to be an insufferable bore and fantasist?
I can get my hands on all sorts of top drawer DVDs from a contact at Amazon, Celia Johnson, Jenny Agutter, Prunella Scales, and of course, Helen Mirran. I even have some early Jessica Tandy.
How can you make a judgement on something when you haven't read it.The twenty one page document put together by one of the leading accountancy firms is packed with data supplied by Baton2010 limited to interested parties. The article in VOTV is by Sky News City Editor Mark Klienman. So it is not the ramblings of a bitter man, typical. Well worth a read.
I can only make judgement on the motives behind this 'exclusive' which is something you should consider. I made it clear that had not read it, for the same reasons i dont need to read mein kampf or twenty shades of grey. it is a delibrate attempt to appeal to the vanity of the weak minded and to take in those that are easily led. I am glad you enjoyed it. Don't you consider that Rick may be playing you for a fool here? When accusations are made against the board for their motivations, should we not also apply the same rule to the accusers?
I rather enjoyed Mein Kampf. VOTV is pretty good, too. The Steve Brown interview is well worth a read and offers an interesting insight into Curbs' regime. As for the political stuff, I take it with a pinch of salt. Whatever happens, happens, but I do like the alternative views of others that have worked within the club's deepest environs.
Whatever next. The board are going to sell the pitch to terrorists to train on. The sad thing is that people will believe it.
West Ham's owners already tried that but Al Quaeda saw the 'Ham' connotations as un-Islamic; their PR people are busy enough as it is.
In my opinion some of our fans are completely barking up the wrong tree where Rick is concerned. Without blowing smoke up his backside, the bloke is 100% genuine. The fact is that without his efforts, there is a fair chance that we could still be playing our home games on a rotation basis at every other London ground ( maybe Barnet this season). Look at Coventry before you laugh. Of course he didn't plough loads of dough in but Rick did a lot more than most back in the 80s to wind up and motivate the right people. Slater claimed in the programme last week that we were not for sale, on the same day that Rick published evidence that we actually were. I don't remember seeing Slater amongst the 880 fans on the terraces at our home game at Selhurst, but I do remember seeing Rick. I know who I trust when it comes to Charlton's best interests, and it ain't the Man City fan
