If someone else came in to buy the club, I think the first thing they would do would be to restore our real name.

This is laughably inept on the part if the club. I didn't think for one minute that they hadn't done this by the required date. To go to all this trouble and face all this backlash and then to not be able to do it is extraordinary. I get the feeling heads may roll over this...

On the plus side it means I have 1 more season supporting before I jack it in over any name change.

That doesn't work at all, every single league club has a suffix. Do Liverpool fans add an FC suffix when saying who they support? Indeed the only team the media refer to in this way is Milan!

Apparently, the BBC and the Premier League are still referring to us at Hull City. So that's some silver lining on what I had hoped was all a bad dream...

I so hope this name change does get refused.

Premier League official line - "A Premier League spokesman told Sportsmail: 'We have not been informed of a change in the name of the actual club, it is the company name that has changed. They will still be known as Hull City as far as the Premier League is concerned when results or fixtures are published. We understand the move is more to do with their international reputation.

'If any club wanted to change the club name we would talk to them and see what processes of consultation [with supporters] they had gone through.'"

So the name hull city is going no where , as the Allams have said yesterday ... its just how the club is marketed that has changed ... Yes the badge will change next year but as Ehab said this will be in consultation with the fans.

But they have no need to as the football side of things is staying Hull City as it has been registered with the football league for decades ... The football league have not known us as Hull City AFC for many many years ... this is what I really don't get about all these protests and rants ... the Football side of things is currently Hull City and has been for years and Hull City AFC has only been the business/marketing side of things , but even that has had different names going back way before the Allams.

Sometimes Bayern are called FC Bayern in some media outlets, but that's about it. I think Barca are called FC Barcelona by some as well.

As an observation, and not wanting to be provocative, there's a lot in your replies that show there's a lot you don't get about football supporters.

Virtually all of the media will still call us Hull City.

    No need to change things.

It's when it becomes Hull Tigers it becomes a bit trickier to avoid...

I don't think I've ever seen FC Barcelona mentioned in the English media.

    It's used overseas mostly.

When I went to Thailand a couple of years ago, they only called it that and nothing else.

I think you're a bit behind the times... Nick Thompson was telling us that Hull City Tigers would just be the Commercial and Business side of the Club but the Allams have just admitted (officially stated) that it's the name of the whole Club. It's not just for the marketing at all. The badge, referrals etc will all be "Hull City Tigers Ltd" from 2014/15 onwards.

Just wait to see how the team are introduced at the first home match. "Welcome to the home of Hull City Tigers " then next season "Welcome to the home of Hull Tigers".
Press releases will say "Hull Tigers player ........ called up for England".
Players and the manager will say " I am proud to be part of Hull Tigers"
Your season pass will say Hull Tigers.
When players visit schools the children will be told Hull Tigers are coming.

    Not exactly.
If the Allam's put out feelers that they would sell they would get a lot of interest.
You are very perceptive about the TV money being an attraction.

if you dance with the devil youve got to dance to his tune, since the introduction of the premier league weve seen squad numbers, name on shirts, increase kit sponsors, stadium sponsors, ever changing kits, bombardment of goal music, increased case of players dictating to clubs their terms, foriegn owners raping of clubs not saying im in favour of the change but its inevitable its all about greed
