Wonder if Papa thought about that? It appears there is / was a general apathy for the Legends game and the one v Real Bettys. Shame for Dawson, because those slack jawed waverers who intended not to send him off with a fitting tribute, now have a ready made excuse to 'boycott' and flick 2 fingers to Papa, but its Daws that suffers. I saw that Manny have left during the week as well - another (final??) link with the past extinguished. It all seems like the club I started off supporting decades ago, doesn't look like it used to. Not too sure I like it ..
I am more determined than ever to go tomorrow. I will be involved in any protests that arise regarding the name change, and I think this may swell the numbers rather than lower them. BUT...during the legends game and our match v Real Bettys, I will be fully behind the players and showing my appreciation to the longest serving, and possibly the slowest, left back we have ever had. (Sorry Daws!)
Neil Mann's gone?! Man had his leg broken twice, came back to fitness just to play for City - and the club basically kick him to the kerb? I hope Brucey and the team have a bloody good performance up their sleeves and thank us for our support of Hull City AFC at the end. The legends game will be terrific, looking forward to seeing Big Ben and Danny Allsopp again, although knowing my luck they'll be on seperate teams -.-
I hope there is still a good attendance (I'm working so can't attend unfortunately). Daws and the charities that will benefit from this game shouldn't miss out.
I think we should go and show even more support to those who helped us get here and those who put there heart and soul into the club as i have no doubt some of those playing tomorrow will think its a shocking idea to!
And most will not think its a shocking idea.... they will just be bemused and feel slightly superior to those who seemingly don't have anything greater to worry about in life.
I'm still going. Between the matches I shall be protesting against all this rebranding. During the matches I will be paying tribute to a true legend of Hull City AFC.
After the match I reckon we should stage a "sit-in" nobody leave until we have made our point, singing --- "Were not going home, were not going hooooooome we are HULL CITY and were not going home" to the Best trip tune.
