For £30 million apparently. Obviously this is far more than he's worth, but I think not too unreasonable seeing as he has a good while on contract and the clubs linked with him are super rich and used to spending like there's no tomorrow. If anyone wants to pay that for him... Well look how our squad has developed since we got the Carroll money in.

No "£30m" quoted, the Pardew comments were from around May/June time, the rest is just guesswork and padding...man alive, being a journalist is either the simplest job in the world, or the dullest. Sincerely hope they are paid per accurate story.

I have seen two things this entire Summer that have been true. ESPN reporting the accepted bid for Gomis first, and Joe Kinnear saying he expected to get Remy in. Seriously, what kind of world is it where Joe Kinnear is more reliable than journalists.

Think Cabaye would go for between £18-£20 million. For me he had a very poor season last year, ill disciplined at times, crap corner taker . injury prone, so it would be good business to take the money and try for a more consistent player or even two.

It is his proneness to depression and malaise that would make 20 million seem a good deal.

I reckon he'll be bought by either PSG or Manure, said it months ago and if Manure don't get Fabregas(unlikely) or Fellaini(likely) then Cabaye would be next on the list.

I'd rather we kept him but have said all along I think he'll go this window. The money being talked about will be far too good. PSG or Man U

I think they may be tempted to compete as PSG are still well ahead overall. They have suggested they are done though.

Have they? Ah well. I can't see where else Cabaye could go to, in terms of top clubs that is.

Possibly the Spuds if they get what they want for Bale.
Would have money to burn, so could spread it our way.

Mind, as both us and them are notoriously slow with transfers it wouldn't be completed until August 2014.
On second thoughts, rule the Spuds out.

If you get £30m for him you'd have done a fantastic bit of business

£20m would also be very good after his average season last time round

If anyone pays anywhere near the £20m they need their head examining. If that fee is a minimum requirement, Id be v. schocked if you sold him.

He did. A few late challenges to boot. He's a dirty fecker at times but I don't mind that.

Aye. Thought we played some nice stuff. Nice to see them move the ball around with a bit of confidence. Hopefully they'll put all the positives we've seen over the pre season together once the real stuff starts. Concerned about Benni mind. Looks like he has not taken on board the new fitness regime. Only one who looked in poor condition. The class is there but he takes it for granted. We lack a bit of penetration. I'd still like to see an Ince/number 10 type.

Noticed straight away how much he'd bulked up, it might have been intentional. He didn't have a bad game and he put the ball exactly where Colo wanted it for the goal that never was. I hope Mason is exposed for his rubbish performance today.
