So Hull City Tigers locally but Hull Tigers nationally and international, i'd like to know the local borders of when I should stop using one and use the other.
HaHa i thought that, i assume he's locked in a dark room plotting some sort of a mass protest or a takeover bid. Or he's been kidnapped by AA and force fed Hull Tigers
I reckon (whether he's fully aware of it or not) this is another swipe at the council which is then being rationalised as a commercial decision, not unlike the fiasco of the open top bus / city hall promotion celebrations etc that the council wanted to put on & which to the detriment of many fans he turned down. So the club must not have the word 'city' in it as it has a link to the local establishment etc. He's a narcissist trying to repair the 'wound' of having his grandiose plans for the KC spiked. I can see him making similar statements & threats as the Cardiff owners when he hears us fans being 'ungrateful' etc. That's where it's heading!
Simple just dont buy the gear with it on. Top post. Could not agree more. Yes they are sadly. They say that locally we shall still be known as Hull City Tigers. Only out of Hull will it be Hull Tigers. Well said. Hard to disagree with ^^^ this. So very very true. You may have hit on something. But as long as HULL stays in the name and the club is a success on the pitch then why worry what else we are called. Well said and another top post. This issue should in noway have an impact on the Andy Dawson game as some have said it may. Anyone who boycotts that game due to this issue is a complete disgrace. Yes they do but they wont. For once we agree. Many on here forget that vital thing though. I doubt that Hull is United at the moment. We that is what having an opinion is about. We all have our own views on this issue. As for forming a new club at the bottom of the pyramid good luck if you and others do just that. You must be joking. Those years were dire. Dont you you muppet ? Wow Chazz, a bit early to be on the crystal meth isn't it ?
Also, how ****ing awful is the 'new' badge? http://www.thisishullandeastriding....s-19638664-detail/pictures.html#axzz2b5re0BTS
Maybe not but their fan base numbers are good ... You hear a term they are a big club sadly today that can be manufactured. My team QPR regardless of football on the pitch ... that's not too important anymore are growing and I am convinced because of the West London location will grow to be well ... whatever. We are in the bloody news every day ... that's intentional ... we brought Park and his shirt sales and promotional revenue was massive I believe ... he did very little in the ways of football Clubs have to grow lads and adapt ... putting the emphasise on the tigers is IMO a very clever move ... bottom line no news/no profile equals no money in the long run. As this football circus grows can you understands how valuable Tigers will become as a name ... 15 years we may even may Dolphins or Sharks ... or in Norwich's case Fieldmice
Can't honestly see the point of changing our name. We are quite simply Hull City AFC and always will be. However, what comes to mind in reading all (or at least most) of the posts is something the late Michael Winner would say, 'Calm down dear, its only a name' ! Although I've voted against the change (and no matter how many people vote the same way, it will be ignored) I think we have to take a step back, breathe deeply and be honest with the question which is 'Will this make any difference to the team once they step on the pitch?' The answer is of course not. Will this stop me supporting City? Absolutely not. Will any of you posters stop supporting City? Absolutely not.
Very rich clowns. They may be many things but calling them clowns is not really on is it ? Well said John. I think we know which side of the fench OLM is on. Not that bad. It could have been worse.
interesting tweet... PJBuckingham 7m: FA rules state any proposed changes to a club's name must be received by April 1 and approved. Awaiting clarification if this was done. If the new name was registered before 1st April then surely the new fixture list for this season would have shown us as Hull City Tigers ? I reckon it's not been registered with the FA yet so can't be used for this season.
The owners are a disgrace for this, we are a laughing stock everywhere. I will be joining whatever protest is going on, well done to people on this site for flagging things up as they happen. How to derail your team before the season has even started, unbelievable.
Daft decision. Even my 11 year old has said he won't wear anything with the new badge on. That's lost the club shop about £350 a season. Times that by how many thousand and the Allams might just get the gist.
We are not the only club to have a name change anyway... Manchester United / Arsenal and others have done it in the past. The more I think about it , though I still will call us Hull City.... I'm not really bothered.. The worst news in my opinion would be to wake up to the Headline that the Allams have left. Now that would be a disaster in my opinion
I think the only reason the change has happened, is all because allam has got a related sponsor lined up for next season....rawr
