My understanding is that the figures were never so precise. The discussions were more options and opportunities.
Cardiff City playing in red or "Hull Tigers" doesn't attract investment; it's an excuse for owners to satisfy their whims. Successful football teams and teams with potential attract investment. Man City did OK for having a "common" name and not playing in red.
Did you spot the clue? We haven't just had the pitch relaid, it also incorporates the only grassy knoll outside of Dallas.
The only way the brand becomes succesful is by the team been succesful so AA can call us what he wants unless he chucks another £50m at it on players and has us in the top 10 then Hull Tigers or Hull City Tigers is going to no more succesful than Hull City AFC. Or we'd have Manchester Devils imo Im no Marketing genius but AA wants to get into Asia and all these markets but they support the best most succesful teams with the best players that are challenging for trophies e.g Man Utd, Real Madird etc no one supports a team because of the nice name
I cant believe just how petty some of you little Englanders are being.......... "a name change is TERRIBLE" oh **** off and support L**DS.
The email reply to me from the Clubs Marketing Director a fortnight ago after I told them not to send me any emails or correspondence of any description with Hull Tigers Limited has a hollow ring to it now. Even fell out with my brother (we've both be going since 1966) when he argued it was merely a rebranding a couple of weeks ago - he now admits I was right all along. Name change by stealth except now at least the HDM has weedled it out of the silly old man that is Pappa Allem. This will get ugly and will give Terry Geriatric all the ammunition he needs to say 'I told you so'.
Hull City Tigers in UK and Hull Tigers internationally. I don't think anybody could come up with a sorrier mess if they tried. The club is run by a set of clowns.
Precisely. I remember getting loads of **** at the time for arguing the council were completely right not to hand it over.
So, has anybody worked out how this is going to help with international merchandising? If nobody had really heard of us before, how is this going to help?
It's quite simple, all the traditionalist are complaining about the re-branding - then ignore it. Don't buy any merchandise that has the new logo on it. Personally I like the 'Hull City Tigers', far better than our historic 'Hull City Bankrupt' or Hull City Locked Out'. The owners have chosen to rename but the supporters by choice can continue to call it what they like. They will not benefit anything from me with the re-branding as I no long buy merchandise, just my season tickets - which I will continue to do.
In time lads you will see the power of the rebrand. It's a fickle footballing world but worldwide it will attract more attention. Hull City games will be broadcast globally ... it makes sense to look at that. ... You are the Tigers and thats how football is going ... right or wrong. (US influence and money) Historically Wolves as a brand attracted many fans this way.
I've given the Allams the benefit of the doubt in previous dubious occurrences but I now have to concur. Although it's certainly Allam snr that's driving the name change. The problem is, due to his blinkered vision, he doesn't accept criticism so surrounds himself with 'Yes' men who cannot or will not challenge him when he's making obvious mistakes.
Nick Thompson, you are a lying ****, a disgrace to the club. Allams.... just **** you. I know you saved the club, but **** you.
