JH you made me proud to be a Redman again. An owner who has made his fortune in the money markets stating clearly that it's not about money but about logistical considerations and ethical decision making.

I truly liked the way he handled the situation regarding Wenger and Arsenal. The moral and practical high ground is Henry's, the grubby shadowy dealings belong to Arsenal.

What does this mean for Suarez. That's up to him. But you can be sure that Rodgers will have been told to ensure that whatever arrangements are made for his training, they do not breach our contractual obligations. However he must be seen to be isolated from the rest of the squad.

He ain't going anywhere Gerrez, Henry is making a point to Suarez, essentially saying because you went blabbing to the media you are not going anywhere this summer, even if Madrid make an offer, at least I hope that is the case.

    personally not so sure Sisu,

i reckon he/we as a club would sell abroad personally, but if Real had any ideas of getting him cheap, they now know that wont be the case.

there was a few of us that was saying sell to Real for say £30-35 mill just so he doesn't go to Arsenal as it makes more sense to take a little hit on him if it doesn't disrupt our top 4 hopes, well Real probably thought similar, now they know not going to happen unless its our value.

just watched SSN and they had someone from the Mirror on there, and he is still convinced he will go to Arsenal if they offer £50 mill ish, this is going to run all fecking window either way.

I am not sure, I am hoping Henry doesn't say one thing then do another, how can we believe him at all then in future.

    hopefully that is the case.

they showed one of Henry comments about we wont sell players if it weakens the squad going forward then we sold Torres shortly after, but i thought well we didn't really weaken the ruddy squad so why use that statement as technically it was correct, we got £50 mill for him which was way more than he was worth, trouble is we spent the money on ****e, didn't weaken the squad, we just didn't strengthen it properly ie British ****e!!

also mentioned fergies comment about wouldn't sell Real a virus and then sold Ronaldo.

good statement by Henry, but clubs will sell players if the money is right, just have to hope we have a Levy in Henry ie stubborn fecka.

Great statement from the club and John Henry.

However, I can't help but feel that Ian Ayre should be the one making the noises and not Henry. If only we had a figure like Henry AT Anfield, all the time.

well obviously Henry's comments (whilst great) will have exceptions. Hardly gonna turn down £70m+ for instance! But it certainly swats away the flies and is a big **** you to Arsenal full stop.

Nah, it's better to save the big guns for when they're needed.

I took it as we won't sell to Arsenal at all. If Madrid make a big offer we might accept. Hope they do.

I think we'd also try and get a player in exchange too

    He was unequivocal, he said he's not being sold to anyone this window;

"He won't be sold even if a foreign club comes in because we do not have time to sign a suitable replacement,"

"It's not about finances. So late in the window... we can't replace him. So for football reasons we can't sell"

Makes sense what he is saying. Hope he keeps that word. However, if we could find a suitable replacement, it doesn't matter if they come in once the season is underway as Suarez won't be playing anyway.

i don't mind it being henry... ayre has said his piece and arsenal have been cheeky enough to keep it going and so has suarez

henry has stepped up and drawn a line under it... had to be done... its a corner he's painted himself into but i can't help but also think real are not interested.

This is the crux of the points Henry makes, who could we find of even similar quality to replace Suarez at this stage, especially considering there is no European football let alone no CL footy.

AS for who is saying it, Henry was asked and he answered the questions

I can understand the media still continuing to agitate for what they want to see happen. However, John Henry has not just rained on their parade - he's deluged it! The 2 abstracts that you quote witness it. No Real or any other foreign club and certainly no Arsenal. If any of our supporters are still thinking that he won't be here when the window closes then you'd better get you heads into shape. John Henry has spoken and he means it.

Now, what happens after the window closes is another matter. He could be gone in January, it could be at the end of the season (after the World Cup) or it could be that both sides kiss and make-up but I think that unlikely. JH has put the ball firmly in Suarez's court as to how he will be handled until such time as he does leave the club.

Why am I so confident that neither JH or LFC will backtrack on this policy statement? Because they can't afford to. It's as simple as that. FSG/LFC have won the battle. They have restored the power of the club and if they do backdown they will never be taken seriously as owners again. They have shown that they are committed to the club and the players who are contracted to them but they will not be pushed about. In the longer term I believe that is important because of the contract dealings that we will have to undergo with our younger players.

If you notice during his remarks about Arsenal, which are corporately very scathing, the only 'kind' word he has is for Kroenke who he refers to by his first name. I just wonder what dealings those 2 may have in the US and what the implications might be for Wenger and Gazidis?

and the proof of the pudding is in the eating. now they just follow through. suarez can take it to court, lose all fitness etc while he does and in the end he's got to start worrying about the WC and so will crawl back.

as for arsenal... its only business after all.... wenger wanted it to be amicable. only in business you can't be told firmly on thing then ignore it and expect amicable.

Seems like Henry is backing Suarez into a corner by making him submit a transfer request. Too ****ing right, try to do everything to manufactuer a move except sacrifice his loyalty bonus.

could well be the case... despite EVERYTHING the asshole never put w written request in so he would fight in court to go but never lose his loyalty bonus. there is certainly something in that.
