£40 million, some hubcaps, and a shopping trolley to throw in the canal should get the deal sealed <ok>

"He won't be sold even if a foreign club comes in because we do not have time to sign a suitable replacement," he said. "It's a football reason. It's not about finances. That's why at this point, so late in the window, with everyone who's already moved or isn't moving, we can't replace him. So for football reasons we can't sell, and especially to Arsenal."

<rofl><rofl> Well that just shows how serious we should take this Henry clown. Not selling to Arsenal is believable, but to no one?

Exactly. If he had just said Arsenal I would have been worried. £50M + Transfer request = Suarez is an Arsenal player.

Oh man. This may actually happen. <laugh><laugh> So many Scousers are going to look like absolute morons (if they can stoop any lower). Let's hope it happens purely from a comedy aspect of things.

LS said in that article the other day that if he did not get his move he would hand in a TR by the end of the week. So tomorrow we'll know more hopefully. If he really does put in a TR, it shows how wide of the mark JWH is in his understanding of anything football related, and his understanding of the player. I can't help feeling that Liverpool are reading from a different hymn sheet to everyone else in this saga.

Arsenal or ANYONE ELSE. Do you really believe, as John Henry said, that Suarez will be a Liverpool play on September 3rd? Thought so.

Which, when translated and condensed means "show us the money"

  13. Of course, you could both be right (and I actually hope you are, just not for Arsenal's benefit) but I think Henry has more to lose in these comments than Liverpool has to gain.

Simply put, Luis is worth more to us rotting in our reserves then the £50m-£55m you guys may or may not cough up. You see, if we sell him to you then there is zero chance of top four. If we keep him, we have hope. The CL is worth about £40m. suarez's value won't drop that much after one year (or four to five months) in the reserves.

With 40-50m, you could buy top replacements. With every day that this saga rumbles on, the chances of that diminish so it makes sense to sell the unhappy and player and move on. Nothing will magically change if you keep him tbh.

No offense to Liverpool, but even if you don't give us Suarez, we're still going to most likely end up above you next season. I like how you lot are going on about selling Suarez to a competing rival for the top 4, but you've barely put in a legitimate challenge against us for the top 4, WITH Suarez as well.

Forget about trying to overtake Arsenal, and concentrate on overtaking Everton first.

    #2275
  16. That's not the point. Our current aim is to get back into the top four, strengthening another team that aspires to get fourth spot isn't going to help is it?

    #2276
  17. Noticed you said replacements. Fair enough, we'd have the transfer kitty but we'd have only freed up one top players wage. The additional wage(s) would have to come from somewhere.

That's assuming you can buy more than one player for 50m which shouldn't be impossible. I mean, who are you looking at? There are few 50m players on the market atm.

We're not aspiring to get 4th, that's the whole issue I have with Henry and L'pool fans. Our focus has (hopefully) shifted. Sorry but that's the way it is, at least that's the way I hope Wenger sees it anyway.

  20. There aren't any which makes all the more sense to hang on to him regardless. As I keep saying, I don't want him at Liverpool anymore, he's made his bed so he can ****ing well lay in it as far as I'm concerned. I can't stand Michael Owen but I place Luis Suarez lower than him in my ranks after this weeks fiasco. It is why I said I wouldn't take him if our positions were reversed <ok>
