Delighted for him. Very much hope he doesn't get injured.

 

This is so fantastic, I just hope he does himself proud.

 

Lambert and Rooney playing in the same squad- hard to think of 2 more juxtaopposed players.

 

Hope he manages to get minutes on the pitch he deserves it.

P.S. The bonus news about his baby girl nearly made me fill up. What a great day for a great man.

There have been a few distractions lately and I've missed loads of football news. Now I discover Pompey lost 4-1 at home, have been dumped out of the League Cup and Lambert gets an England call. I must stay away more.

The Lambert news is just amazing, and so well deserved. He's come a long way thanks to three very good managers.

 

Being Scousers, we can't be clear about official ownership of the cameras. Sorry, couldn't resist. As everyone knows I love Scousers and am more than made up for them.

I hope he gets at least a half to show he's not a Holt type battering ram. Ricky has more craft and vision to his game than many realise (esp' outside Southampton).

I also hope stuffs changed in the England setup these days, always remember Beattie's comments about his call up and some players not passing to him.

Thanks must be given to Pardew who had a job on his hands convincing Nicola that Ricky was worth a million. He said recently that Lambo was the best kicker of a ball that he'd seen. Shoot when you see the whites of their eyes, Ricky...don't look for someone to pass to, you won't have the quality of Saints around you on Wednesday

 

Pochettino also said he's one of the best he's been with too. Quite something when you consider who Pochettino has played alongside.
