how long until Holloway snaps with all the abuse that will be aimed at him after his performance at Crawley. guess the minute he cries to a steward I am going for the 13th
One win, and apparently we're going to beat a Premier League team. It's last season all over again...
Winable game? They are a premier league team, Granted arguably the weakest prem team but they didn't get promoted and we didn't get relegated for this to be a easy game. They'll see it that way. Us, It's going to be a very tough game. Glad we're at home for it, Not the fixture we would of liked but if we are on our A game we might just sneak something.
I agree RR. It will be good for Wags, Pack and Wynter etc to face Palace. That is the advantage of cup football, it gets our players out of their 3rd division rut and gives them a shot of excitement, which in turn raises their game and shows them that they have another level. And if we win it, the players start to believe they can live at that level themselves, which puts them up further on their development journey. It feeds on itself, which is great as long as they dont get too up themselves and take a hammering by Gillingham or Tranmere. I havent forgotten Elland Road 1974 That tie was the making of Bristol City
You're right there BRR the belief that game gave the players, and their performance against Liverpool in the next round even though we lost, meant the team went into the following season really believing what AD kept saying that they were as good as players in the top division. Self belief is a wonderful thing it gives you confidence and in young players that is great because they go into every game thinking they can win it and it doesn't get dented too much by a defeat.
Against far better opposition. I love our current style at the moment, but because we have a core group of players that can pass a ball it doesn't mean that we're Barcelona. Also, we won ONE game. A single game. I wouldn't call that winning form, and if we bottle all our games playing nice football I'm sure you won't be the last person to slate the squad. It's good that some of our players will get a game against Palace, but it's in no way a winnable game because we can pass a ball now. I'm happy we got Palace because they're a weaker Premier League team, but a stronger team than we'll face all season, and it'll be a good experience for our younger players like Wynter. I'm fully expecting a loss, but a loss that'll serve to show our young squad the heights that will be expected of them by the fans.
