Derry has joined Millwall on a 'short-term' loan deal. Official.

Good luck to him, but I fear we will never see him again.

One month, hardly seems worth it for him. Would they ha e the option to extend I wonder?

Makes sense. We can reassess in a month and see where we are. If half our CM's are injured by then it'll be handy having the option of recalling him. I'd imagine he'll get more football/hit better form whilst at Millwall!

It's like Harry is thinking 'right, to get promotion what we really need to do is get rid of everyone who experienced it last time round.'

Just Hill and Faurlin to go now. Is that right? Ephraim?

Good luck Sean. Wish it had not been Millwall but sincere good luck to you anyway.

    QUOTE
    'Chuffed to bits'
    Shaun Derry
Derry delighted to be a Lion
Shaun Derry said he is 'chuffed to bits' to have today joined Millwall on a one-month loan from Championship rivals QPR.

Midfield lynchpin Shaun put pen to paper this afternoon and is expected to go straight into The Lions squad for Saturday's game at Ipswich Town. He has been handed squad number 17.

Explaining how the move came about Shaun enthused: "Steve Lomas contacted QPR and I had a chat with Harry (Redknapp) after the game on Tuesday and we both decided it was perhaps best for me to get some games.

I was well up for it. I am absolutely chuffed to bits to be at Millwall.

I'm here first and foremost to play football and to help the club get further up the league than they were last year. Also, the locality of it is great for me because I live just around the corner and the passion of the place and the supporters is fantastic.

My wife's family are all Millwall fans so they are delighted and so am I."

Lomas: “Shaun was desperate to come here and prove he can earn a long-term contract with Millwall.”

He wants to play in starting line-ups, something he is probably not going to do with us.

Am I right that he is in the last year of his contract? If so I doubt whether, at his age, we will extend it further, especially if we do gain promotion. Millwall, on the other hand, might be willing to give him regular starts and maybe 2 seasons if all goes well - one season playing fairly regularly and a second more as back-up. That will take him to retirement.
