The League Cup draw will be made at 1:30 today and will be live on Sky Sports News.

35 First Round Winners go into the Second Round draw, along with the 14 Premier League clubs not involved in European competition plus Reading.

And subject to final confirmation, the 25 seeded sides in the Second Round will be:

Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Cardiff City, Charlton, Crystal Palace, Derby County, Everton, Fulham, Hull City, Leeds United, Leicester City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, QPR, Reading, Southampton, Stoke City, mackems, Watford, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham.

That means that Newcastle will be paired with one of the following 25 unseeded sides:

Accrington Stanley, Barnsley, Bournemouth, Brentford, Bristol City, Burton Albion, Bury, Carlisle United, Cheltenham Town, Doncaster Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Leyton Orient, Millwall, MK Dons, Morecambe, Newport County, Notts County, Peterborough United, Preston North End, Rotherham United, Stevenage, Swindon Town, Tranmere Rovers, Walsall, Yeovil Town.

Some really good grounds there to visit. Anybody that goes to the away games that hasn't been to Accrington Stanley or Stevenage should try and get to them. Two nice little grounds with good pubs and facilities. Really enjoyed my trips there. Then of course there's Posh at London Road where we could always meet Minxy and Fred, although it's almost impossible to get onto Charters. Couldn't even get near the pub just along the road from the ground, sat on a garden wall opposite and watched all the lucky ones supping their cold ones while my tongue was hanging out.

I thought the FA had introduced a rule to that effect at the same time the brought in the "must face Man U in the 3rd round" rule

Please Pards, don't play the reserves. My heart won't be able to take another exit to a lower league team

At least this year we can't be knocked out by Brighton.

That was a real stinker, it poured with rain all night, the coach left from Newcastle at 1:00am and we had nowhere to go to keep out of the rain until then.

Was still pouring when we got to Brighton and it was a thoroughly miserable 24 hours from the time we left town till the time we got back.

The only bright spot of the last visit to Brighton. The Geordie Male Voice Choir and Dance Troupe with their version of, 'Please don't send me home ma, I don't want to go to work!'

Second Round ties will be played in the week commencing Monday August 26th and this is a fifth successive away draw in the competition for United. Ties are concluded on the night, via extra time and penalties if necessary.

Saves money on a possible long distance journey for a replay if it's a draw after 90 minutes.

Just picked this up from NUFC.com

When the Shrimp boat comes in...

Thursday's League Cup Second Round handed Newcastle a trip to League Two side Morecambe - our first-ever fixture against the Shrimps and our maiden visit to the Globe Arena that opened for business in 2010.

Second Round ties will be played in the week commencing Monday August 26th and this is a fifth successive away draw in the competition for United. Ties are concluded on the night, via extra time and penalties if necessary.

By the way, when I was offline with computer problems, the shop that fixed the computer and did a good job for a very reasonable price have an advert on NUFC.com now.
