A man that was one of the top scorers in the French league at one point and is mainly a striker.

I see him being played mainly as a winger. Will he be happy with this?

If the lad isn't given chances down the middle I think he will go, and I respect his reasons.

His work rate is excellent but we cannot expect him to simply do all the donkey work down the wing forever, only for others to get the glory.

Like Walcott at Arsenal. He left there years ago for exactly these reasons. Oh, wait. No he didn't.

Played a large amount of his games in France out wide, so I can't see it being an issue.

What I do see as an issue is when Gouffran never makes it past the bench, regardless of what he does when coming on. He (and us) will keep watching agog as Jonas plays 90 mins every week and Shola's the one coming on in the 60th minute up front, with Gouff getting the odd cameo when Ben Arfa or Remy get taken off.

    Yup, I AM PARDEW!

Looking at HBA, if he doesn't actually start living the life and stop being a fat ****er, we'll see very little of him again and he'll need hauled off when he does his usual 50 min gas out.

Also, if we play 4 -3 -3 the distinction between striker and winger gets pretty blurry

It's an impressive train of negativity that you follow, young Tash.

Firstly we can't seem to sign a striker and everyone is hitting the panic button.

Then, as soon as we do, we find threads about who will be unhappy now that we have striking options.

It's hard to keep up you know.

We'll keep him a cuple more seasons i reckon. Seeing as remy's not guna be available for the opener i would love to see us try a gouff/ cisse strike partnership, surely cabaye's hollywood balls would be more effective with a pacey forward, but it's away to city so that's just not gunna happen

I know what you're all saying, but do you think Gouff is gonna be happy being put out on the wings long term?

IMO if we don't at least give him a chance down the middle and get in the box to score goals, then he'll not be fully happy. He can score goals if he's given the opportunities.

He's a good finisher and decent in the air, he shouldn't be kept on the wing all the time.
