Julio Cesar although linked to many clubs, doesn't want to move. Not because he loves us or anything as soppy as that. But because we are paying him a reputedly £100,000 a week. This is on a contract he signed with us until 2016. Unless a club come's up with a similar offer he is not budging. His agent has said that if no club offers the same terms as QPR he will not sign. No wonder Arsenal and others around Europe have backed down. What happens if no club will match his demands? Is Julio so confident of being Brazil's no.1 in a world cup year playing in the championship, that he won't take a cut in wages or length of contract? What happens if he has to stay with us as no one will pay this ludicrous amount of money? It seems to me that he has weighed this gamble up, and £5.2m a year is worth far more than a World Cup Winners medal. Which he may well end up with as well.
Josias Cardoso says he has sent an associate to speak with the Viola as he searches for a club willing to pay the Championship club's £2.75 million valuation of the player Julio Cesar's agent has confirmed that Fiorentina are a viable option for the QPR goalkeeper to join this summer. The Brazil international, 33, had been targeted by Arsenal and Napoli with the Hoops having been relegated from the Premier League in May, though both clubs' interests are believed to have dimmed. Josias Cardoso, who represents the shot-stopper, says the west London club are still willing to sell with less than a month until the transfer window closes and suggested Cesar would like to join the Florence-based side. "I never made direct contact with Fiorentina, but I did send a close friend to speak to the Viola. For now there is no news," the agent told Radio Blu. "QPR would have no problem letting him go to Fiorentina or to any other club, but if the €3.2 million don’t arrive then it’s difficult to close the deal. The move can be made only if we are offered a four-year contract. "He has a contract with QPR until 2016, so it has to match that date. The length of the contract could compensate for a difference in wages, but if it expired earlier than 2016 then it would be pointless. "Julio Cesar likes Fiorentina, so they could be the right team for him to target a World Cup spot." Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has rejected reports that he has held talks with the Championship club. "I have never contacted QPR for Julio Cesar," he told Sky Sport 24. "I want to deny the rumours that you may have read in the newspapers."
Julio is not on £100,000 a week he is the clubs highest paid player on £68,000 a week. I don't do 'SAUCES' I know from a reputable friend who is a 'SAUCE' this a fact. The only other £65k a week earner still left at the club is Barton.
What about Granero and Mbia? I thought they were supposed to be doing quite well for cash ? What do they earn?
Mbia and Granero on £40k a week. Samba, Bosingwa, Barton, Remy, Park were or are all on £65k.......Cesar joined on fact he was to be the highest paid, hence £68k but at least he put a shift in!!
I am not disagreeing with you on your wage info, but surely samba wages were more than that, I got told from a member of the ffc coaching staff that when samba was at Blackburn, before he moved to anzhi that rangers offered samba 80k a week, he then went to anzhi. I cant mention names, but did barton also say that he was on 80k a week to carl henry
Just seeing all the numbers makes you want to vomit. Take an 0 off the figures and they might be worth it. Thank god a lot of the mercenaries are gone or are going.
I also cant mention names but I know Cesar is highest paid on £68k. Barton did mention wages to Henry but it was paper talk on the amount, he was QPR's first £65k a week player, but under Hughes a few followed suit!! Samba got a stupid signing on fee to bump up his wages and add on's if we survived relegation, same as Remy.
I don't think he would get a game if he stays. I think harry will try and stick with the players that have played the last two games. I think he sees them having the right attitude
I agree, he will not play so he then needs to move away to continue as Brazil's no 1 for the World Cup
Any person who has blatantly gone out of their way to show complete contempt for our club is a bloodsucking ar_sehole leech. Any respect I had for this wan_ker is long gone and I hope Harry never plays him. Scum like this need to be taught a lesson. No World Cup for you! Now where is my yoga video & book ................. hnmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Absolutely, if he makes the horrendous decision to stay, he will not play a minute in the first team. He can then forget the World Cup.
Is it possible that he is so confident after his Player of the Tournament performance in the Confederations cup that he is assured a place? Or that Big Phil has told him unequivocally that he is his No.1?? Thus allowing him to have his cake and eat it?
Thank you Mortlake for the clarity re wages, which will probably be ignored by many. As for Cesar he has a contract, why should he walk to something worse? If he has refused to play thats a different matter, but I find it much more baffling that we are playing Rob Green instead of him.
I think we're playing Green on the premise that Cesar is leaving but if for whatever reson he stays I fully expect to see him first choice goalie
Maybe Harry taking a moral stand ( for which I applaud him for ) and or is playing Green because he has stated that he plans to stay long term. Cesar as we know has a 'finger in the pie' in every football region around the world and is doing his utmost to be seen to having his heart, anywhere but with us. It is fair enough that he does not have to move but where is this guy on week days & game days ................ is he meeting with supporters at schools, etc as a club ambassador, is he being seen to be supporting our team and players on game days. Yes, football these days is a business and as such, he needs to be towing the line and being seen as such ................ I do not believe he is, hence my frustration with him. Totally unprofessional yet expects to be paid as one. ................ all one way street stuff in my view. The only thing tying him to us is a bit of paper and a weekly draw on some coin.
Green or Cesar? Based on last years performances I dont think there's much between them. they both made a hash of a number of goals conceded, Ceasr probably more, but then he played more I think. I'd rather Green is our No. 1, and we clear Cesar out of the club. Cesar cost us a number of vital games, most important was letting in the 1st Villa goal just before half time. It was a killer.
Alright Sussex how is it going? ... Villa game ... Defence should have closed the shooter down but agree he could of done better ... Kenny IMO has made them both look poor at shot stopping
